I've posted about a few things I've been researching recently and thought I would report on a particular cocktail that I've been experimenting with for a few weeks now. I first have to say that we were all really bad over the holidays. We didn't touch any gluten or dairy types of things, but it was definitely carbogedden. And I had two decent whiskies and half a glass of champagne on New Year's. Out of all of it, I would say that the liquor had the most negative effect though I recovered quickly. It is this quick recovery - even from the carbs - that interests me.

All through the carbocalypse I continued to take my "cocktail" - and so did Ark. (I started him on it when I started just to have a "control" since he has almost no issues with anything.) I briefly considered stopping the cocktail through the holidays since it would be "wasted", but then I thought, if it does what it should do, it might give me some extra support. That seems to be the case.

So, here I am today, we are back on the wagon after a birthday relapse on the 6th/7th, and I feel strangely good. I had one day of aches and pains after the nuts and carbs of the birthday cake and then, poof! Gone. Even though I know I'm not 100% at the moment, I notice that I seem to be getting more energy to all peripherals which is where I normally have so much trouble - leaden legs, cold feet/hands, etc. My mood is also pretty decent which might otherwise not be the case when cutting off carbs and such as suddenly as we did once the holidays were over.

Anyway, here's the cocktail in case anyone else with severe energy problems would like to try it.

Alpha Lipoic Acid - 1
Thorne Trace Minerals - 1
Healthy Aging with NT Factor - 1
Now NADH - 1
Life Extension Super K with K2 complex - 1
NAC - 1
Life Extension PQQ Caps - 2

I'm also taking a couple extra NACs through the day and one before bed.

I was taking the cocktail first thing in the morning, but then I forgot it one day and took it about noon and that seems okay. Doesn't seem to matter whether it is with food or not.

I will mention that yeah, I was pretty sensitive to all the carby things we were eating through the holidays and a little went a long way. They made me feel bad enough pretty quickly that I was really, really glad when it was over! I'm also really glad that we navigated without any gluten or dairy! I don't think that would have been tolerable.

I would like to try "the energy cocktail", as I see I can order all the products suggested, on line.

Question: I've just reordered a "complete Candida Elimination Combo package" which is the first product combination that has ever given me, any type of progressive effective results. It includes 1 bottle CANDELIM -- a strong candida fighter, 1 bottle NYMSAR to reduce die-off, flare-ups and allergic reactions, 1 bottle GI PRO to speed up healing of leaky gut, 2 bottles TOTAL FLORA15 to replenish the intestinal flora and 1 container CANDICLEAR5, which uses fossilized marine phytoplankton to shred candida and parasites and contains many candida-fighting herbs plus zeolite. (Shipment comes from Alaska).

A few months ago, I ran out of the Candelim liquid drops and substituted Oregano Oil capsules while utilizing the remainder of the combo products. The Oregano Oil was as effective as the Candelim drops. Just as I got into a position financially to reorder, my computer tower blew and the car insurance came due. Completely out of products, I utilized fresh minced garlic, probably over doing it and paid the price with too quick of a die-off. Having navigated through everything and back on tract financially, I reordered the Candida Combo - to start all over again.

Question is, would it be beneficial to add "the energy cocktail" to the candida elimination combo program? Or, am I adding too many things at one time?

I'm going to try this, as energy and the lack of it is a big problem. I've got the trace minerals, and ordered the PQQ, which has not arrived due to bad weather etc.

Hubby has been on a fruit cake binge that brought him down with the flu. I did make a batch of gluten free cookies to try out the pie crust recipe from your FB page. (Great recipe! )

I had a glass of cider for New Years, otherwise I've been alcohol free.
I've also been off all coffee, returning to tea and herbals.

The reason I quit: An immediate MS reaction in my right eye, which is pretty scary. (Its like a lens flare, or a migraine aura without the headache.) With one cider, its nothing. Whiskey (which I love in coffee, how ironic is that?) causes close to blindness within an hour. Even coffee by itself can make it worse.
I quit all whiskey and drank wine or cider with dinner for a while, but even one glass more than once a week began to cause a reaction. Ergo, I quit the lot.

I don't miss it, and look forward to trying out this new combo. ;)

Oops. I left one off: 1 Alpha Lipoic Acid. I'll edit and add it in.

That zeolite doesn't chelate other supplements? I have the impression that it doesn't, but that is one of things you want to make sure so you won't waste supplements.

I think it makes sense to focus on one battle at a time, but when you are so bombarded from every front, trying several things that are working for you and others sounds reasonable to me. It is not uncommon to take loads of supplements at the initial stages of the diet and detox. Just make sure your diet is real good, in that way, you make the most out of the supplements.

My 2 cents!

Just want to say thanks for posting this as I'm one of those with heavy-duty energy issues. I'm taking all of those & vitamin D3. (to go with vitamin K2) I've also added a B vitamin complex. Today is my 10th day straight & all is well. In fact, there was a noticeable change within 3 days. As I've had trouble with malabsorption (better now that I've found suitable enzymatic support - Betaine HCL Ox bile) I thought that it might not work on me. Wrong! I can't report a surge in energy, but what I can definitely determine is that I haven't been knackered for over a week.

It feels strange not to be in a mood due to pain & fatigue, although the pain isn't like before going paleo (thank God) I still have pain in my back, & some joint pain, but that's because I've realized that I'm a workaholic. So when I ease-up on my work, (easier said than done, baby steps & all that) there's just general fatigue which isn't a problem. Hopefully anyone else without malabsorption or something like that can give their account, if they're trying this.

I would've posted this on Saturday but I saw other posts on PQQ specifically, so I thought I'd chime in here. I've only just increased the dose (Sunday) after following the same procedure, the only difference is I'm now taking 2 NAC's & 2 of the Healthy aging with NT factor. This is really down to money only (the healthy aging & NAC has loads of capsules!) & since I deem this a success, even with my ropey system, as soon as I get enough money to replenish them I'll do the whole thing again (2 PQQ & 2 NAC's after the morning period) & hopefully with increasing health, I'll get a boost in energy.
