A Disturbance in the Force
Hey guys!
I haven't seen any threads on surfing and its such a massive part of my life! Have we got any surfers lurking here in the forums?

I would like to know what does surfing mean to you? What has it done for you? And do you reckon there's any connection between surfing the ocean's waves and navigating the effects of 'THE WAVE' that the C's talk about?

For everyone else that hasn't surfed, its never too late to start!
I found that it was the one thing my life had always missed, and was the key to open the door to my best existence. As soon as I got into it, my evolution got kicked into overdrive (although I discovered The C's and The Wave Material at the same time-which definitely produced similar effects).
Surfing helped me level up all aspects of myself from my willpower to physical strength, emotional endurance (its always an emotional time out there in the surf:lol:) to patience. It put a higher ceiling on my tolerance of fear + pain and continues to help improve my introverted approach to social navigation. Plus its a beautiful way to get out into nature and get humbled on the daily.

I often wonder about the symbolism of waves bringing immense ups an downs, with the varied intensity of the inclines and declines between. The C's have often said how The Wave carries a lot of turbulence, and I see that in the waves of the ocean too, symbolically. The ocean does what it wants, and the Ocean always wins. Perhaps the ability to navigate and enjoy that which we have no control over is applicable to the effects of The Wave? -because that's pretty much surfing in a nutshell...or uhhh a clamshell?

Come on in and share your surfing stories!

It is also said that, generally speaking, in dreams waves and water tend to represent emotions, so if that's the case, then symbolically, surfing, or navigating becomes an interesting analogy for inner work as well.

But then again, I suppose a lot of tasks and hobbies can be an analogy of inner work, when done properly; just today I was watching a video about samurais and laziness. It makes me think of the fractal structure of existence.

But alas no, never had any experience with surfing myself.

Love surfing! Done many sports, hobbies during my life like: Karate, Kick Boxing, Paragliding, Mountain Biking but started surfing about 7 years ago and find it the most addictive sport I’ve ever done.

There is nothing better than being in the ocean before sunrise when the ocean is glassy with perfect swell. You feel connected to the planet, nature and everything around you including the animals in the ocean.

The cold ocean (Cape Town) also creates a natural “cold plunge” and also helps with your bloodflow 😀

I’ve recently moved “up” to Standup Paddle Surfing which help my core muscles since most of my work involve sitting ( computer, meetings, driving) and find this helps with my back.

Good to see others here also into surfing!

That's funny! :-)I have absolutely nothing to do with surfing, and we live very far from any sea or ocean. But lately, when difficulties have unexpectedly piled up in life and I've had to abruptly change things, adapt, and take action, I've found myself picturing surfing for some reason. It's either you're "riding the wave,":boat:  or you get hit in the head by the board and start choking on water
