Surgery

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am home now. Spent 8 days in the hospital and have been home for 3 now. What a rough road. I am finally feeling a little better. Each day it seems I get a little stronger. Thanks for all the well wishes, and I will post more when I am feeling better.

Angela :)

Thank you for letting us know, Angela! When you get a chance, drop us a line on how you are feeling in general. May you have a quick and easy recovery :flowers:

I am so glad you found the time and strength to reply, although my gratitude is mostly for selfish reasons - I was getting a little worried about you and wanted to know how you were doing.

Since I don't know the specifics of the procedure and its possible outcomes, I imagine things could be different for you after the surgery.

I hope you continue to heal and rest and adjust to whatever your new reality might bring.

I do know that whatever the future brings to you, you will meet it head on with the same courage and strength you presented leading up to the surgery, and for this I admire you.

May the peace of the Divine Cosmic Mind be your peace and may you find comfort in knowing the love for you that flows through this forum to you.

Hello All,

I finally feel good enough to sit at the computer and post. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. It really means alot to me. The last two days I have finally felt a bit like myself. It has definitely been the hardest 2 and a half weeks in my life.
The surgery was definitely a major one. They don't ever really prepare you for it. I guess they didn't want to scare me. I had my bladder removed, uterus, ovaries and some lymph nodes. They used part of my large intestine to build me a new pouch that will hold my urine. Right now I have two stents in my kidneys which is diverting it right now. I didn't know they were going to do that. And every day I have to flush those tubes. Luckily I will get those removed next week. The great news is, is that all of my pathology reports came back negative so that means they got all the cancer out with my bladder!!! Wooo Hoooo! I am never going back to the way I ate or lived. I know that that lifestyle contributed to my cancer, along with old built up feelings that I never dealt with.
I have had alot of time to read, and I am really enjoying that. I am sticking to the elimination diet and I stuck to it in the hospital too. I am beginning to feel so much better. The first week I cried everyday, I think I was mourning the loss of my bladder, and the realization that I have a new way of doing things. I believe that has passed now, and I am so thankful for what I do have. I can't wait to get back on my feet, I am looking forward to feeling good again. I don't think I have felt 100 percent in about 5 years.
Thanks everyone for standing behind me. Its great to know that this forum is here for us. I did miss it when I was in the hospital. Oh, and Guardian I did push ALL the buttons! There wasn't much else to do!!!!

Angela :)

Congrats, Angela! :) Glad to hear that you're doing well.

By the way, are you planning on doing Hormone Replacement Therapy now that your ovaries have been removed? With the talk of xenoestrogens and cancer, you may want to read up on it.

Here are two good starts:
