In 2002, Cantat began an affair with French actress Marie Trintignant after meeting at his concert. In 2003, the two were in Vilnius, Lithuania

On July 27, local authorities received a call from Trintignant's brother, Vincent, for emergency services for Trintignant.

According to Cantat, the previous night, Trintignant received a text from her estranged husband ... and the two began arguing. In initial interviews with authorities, Cantat claimed that she became physical and he hit her in response, accidentally knocking her down and causing her to hit her head on the radiator.

Trintignant was taken to a local hospital, where she had two surgeries performed. After four days, severely injured and still in a deep coma, her parents had her transferred back to Paris. She died of a cerebral edema the following day, August 1.

The post-mortem examination suggested that Cantat had inflicted nineteen blows to Trintignant's head

It's a good question. Maybe it's similar to the long-held belief that Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls were killed because they had the potential to unify the black population in the US. Could their murders have happened because those behind it had knowledge of future events?

Maybe they had some receipts, in those positions they probably were offered access to certain crews and refused but had enough to implicate someone who decided to get rid of them.

Maybe it works like the mafia does, or a cartel, it may not be the big one at the top calling the shots, it may a small element in the structure that found himself threatened who decided to pull the trigger and no one questioned it.

May be there’s some law where they can’t kill every dissident, a balance must be adhered to. A kind of cosmic protection.
May be it’s safer to talk about what you know publicly on social media platforms because of the reach to the audience.
May be you’re more likely to die if they can pin mental illness or some kind of dubious past behaviour at the reason, may be it’s the other way around, they’ll kill you if you’re too sane and influential and your followers are less authoritarian.
May be they’ll just use the old ‘we’ll kill your family’ card to shut some people up.
May be it’s an FRV thingy and certain people with certain potentials just need to be done away with.

Yea there are probably all kinds of factors like this that go into it. Such as what kind of spiritual protection the person has, if they can they be tricked via something they want into "giving permission", if it will it cause a backlash of suspicion, if there is an astrologically/numerologically sound way available to do it, how big/loyal their following is, whether they have a history of suicide attempts already etc. Importantly, are they trusted and likely to be believed, or are they already seen by the public as kind of crazy? This is all assuming it's somehow planned from higher up, and not just a rogue element lashing out.
