Swallows are not here, yet

Usually in my region swallows are coming during the middle of February. This year they are not yet arrived. I have a neighbourhood that he is expecting them every year because swallows come to his garage and do their habitat there. Every year one swallow arrives few days before the rest of the gang. Then the others arrive by groups. This year they are not here, yet. It is for maybe two reasons: that the cold weather will continue or that something is happening that the swallows are not emigrating .

When it is time to leave, swallows leave by groups and one only swallow is left for some days. Then finally this solitary swallow leaves.

Yeah, something seems to have disrupted bird migrations over a wide area, maybe globally, i think the weird weather has something to do with it. http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,26990.0.html

Thanks for the links. It is fascinating to look how our friends animals are acting and understand that something is happening in this planet. My neighboors always say: this is not good and we will pay for it. They have no studies, no degrees but they look around and study the winds and the firmament. And there is something strange, they say, and we will pay for it.
