These are part of the viral marketing for the movie 2012

Even if you can spot these from miles away after a while, they blur facts with fiction on purpose.
It only further confusion in people's head and if someone is talking about how the world can really come to an end because of planet bombardments, well they're going to remember this instead osit.

But the sheer amount of time and planning taken into creating this through fake news, blogs and videos is...well...why am I suprised ??!!

EDIT :

On further reflection, it really seems that this is really important for the PTB to direct and stage how people will see the "2012" event.
While at the same time discredit all serious research into the matters.

It not only discredits research into matters pertaining to 2012, but also discredits anyone who notices any unusual behaviors/situations in general and feels the need to write about it. I couldn't even tell that the second link had anything to do with the movie. It unfortunately reminded me of what is going on in many of the mind control forums. Every now and again you hear that someone has died, but there is never really any way of confirming it. It just leaves people scared and confused.

Its all the 2012 "ARG" game (Alternate Reality Gaming) I stumbled upon this while reading about District 9 and got all confused :P see here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/index.php?f=191

These games go into alot of depth and people win prizes for solving the clues etc. I can't see the interest in them myself but its just an energy vectoring program and some people will get really addicted to this sort of thing.

This is sort of the new "thing" with advertising. Make viral videos, faux websites peripherally related to the subject, ARGs that provide Easter eggs to loyal and committed fans. But I do think that with 2012, it's probably doing something with regards to swaying public opinion.

2012 is one of the most horribly understood subjects for sure. If I talk to someone about it all they can say is childish speculations such as "dude, it's the mayan calender, of course the world will end in 2012" or something like that. The end of the world is something that freaks people out, whether they act like it or not.
It's pretty plain to me that promotion of said movie is just to get us all to sit around, do nothing, and wait for a tidal wave.

Meanwhile, that is certainly not objective reality, and as I sit in front of my computer, I am baffled.

On a side not, I can't wait for the day after "2012" so I can say to people "hey, wasn't the world supposed to end yesterday? Don'tcha think you might reconsider this now?"

Sounds like a concerted effort to blur the lines of fantasy and reality about 2012 so that the masses ignore it all even more than they already are. Or to perhaps sweep up anyone who, god forbid, started to think seriously about global catastrophes after watching the movie.

I think you're right about that, perceval. Anything you put into a movie regarding such subjects seems to get tossed in the "never gonna happen" pile, so to speak.

Exactly. And i think that is why in the movie the only character from alternative side (who allready knew about 2012 events) was a half crazy ridiculed figure (Woody Harrelson).

The catastrophe part is too big for people that they dismiss easily all the related subjects : space origin of earth warming, the existence of an elite ignoring the fate of normal people, the politics lying (notice when he says to his wife: when the government says don't panic you have to escape (something like that)).
The subtle reference to Lady-Diana death in the same tunnel where the fictional director of the Louvres is murdered (with a flash of light) could serve also to cover the princess assassination years after. And a lot of other messages that cannot been discussed without a mockery : yes, you saw that in the 2012 movie, it's all lies!

It's hard for me to imagine that this viral marketing stuff actually works, but lots of things surprise me these days.

Transmarginal inhibition?
