The Cassiopaean TTS Project

Thraaros

A Disturbance in the Force
Do you prefer listening to reading?
Do you know someone who'd be interested in reading The Wave, but they don't like reading too much?
Do you want something closer to a recording of the sessions than a transcript?
Then this is for you!

On July 21st 2025, I started creating a text-to-speech script that utilises the app @Voice Aloud Reader and a RegEx-based Readability parser to assign individualized digital voices to each speaker in the transcript (matching their genders if known), examples attached to this post. You can listen to the transcripts in the app at a customizable speed. It also shows images from the chapters. I used as many unique voices as I could.

The reading app can be downloaded:
- from the Play Store
- directly from the website (for use in Android emulators, and more)
There is no iOS or desktop version at the time of writing.

The script is available under this permanent link: Dropbox
The text file displays the current version (19, as of writing), and I'll be updating it as "time" goes on. It can technically be used for any chapter beyond the latest, but new speakers who occasionally appear in later chapters will sound like the previous voice. The file contains comments that explain how the code functions in case someone wants to improve it.

Instructions:
  1. Download the app and the script (the .json text file).
  2. Share the file to @Voice Aloud Reader on the same device. You don't have to open it directly.
  3. Follow the instructions included on the script's opening page. (Share chapters of The Wave from a web browser to the app, but don't copy and paste the text; use the share function in your browser's menu.)
  4. Check the link periodically for updates.
  • Please tell me if the instructions are simple enough or if screenshots or screen recordings are required.
I'm not affiliated with the app, but since Greg, the app's developer, spent many hours teaching me the functions of the parser in an email conversation, the least I can do for him is ask you, if you find the app useful, to consider buying the premium ad-free license. Greg also said he opposes subscription models, so you keep it forever; however, this project is free to use and improve (paid for with time and attention, the spiritual currency, if you will).

Trivia: I deduced the genders whenever possible to match the voices. Some names (Laura, Terry, Jan, Frank, Ark) or just pronouns (V, the most anonymous of the group) are used at least once somewhere in the first two volumes, so I also used those names in the script. Please let me know if I'm mistaken. I'm a fan of the voice I gave the Cassiopaeans, so I hope you like it: check the attached example recording from chapter 2 (in two file formats).

@Thraaros , thank you, but we are actually in the process of finalizing our own audiobooks with Laura's voice. The first one should be released this month. It sounds way more natural than your demo, because we cloned her voice and did a lot of work to tweak the audio. AI is great, text-to-speech are great, but for this type of book, we wanted to make something just a little more professional.

It's always better to post here first before launching into a project such as this (and to get the author's authorization). If it hasn't been done, it's usually "already cooking".

Take your time to get familiarized with the forum. I see you just joined but said you wouldn't be around much, so no rush.

(I forgot to mention in my post that version 19 means it's fully compatible with 19 chapters, and slightly compatible with later chapters).

Hi @Chu, does that audiobook include voices for speakers other than Laura? If not, I might just stick with my script and keep improving it. I'm not sure yet. And on the topic of sounding robotic... (By the way, my project doesn't use AI at the moment.)

I've just found an AI TTS website that can be used to generate dialogues with different voices using a slightly modified version of the parsing script that I could easily make TTSReader V3.9.12 - TTSReader's Text to Speech Player. I've attached a manually-created mockup. While it requires a premium subscription, it allows downloading sound files and can be used to publish MP3s, so there'd be no need to run scripts.

It is all done with Laura's voice, but with as much variation as possible. The main reason was that it sounded way more natural having the narrator (Laura) read everything. AI (or whatever) would not manage to replicate the real dialogues exactly anyway. The speakers aren't British for the most part (like the Cs in your demo....), some have foreign accents, etc. Anyway, that's just what we decided for our first audiobook. I can't tell you what the others are going to be like yet. What I CAN say is that, compared to these demos, you can hardly tell it's not Laura actually reading it. Some part are more noticeable than others. But we did our best.

I wanted to pick an otherworldly voice for the Cs, which I think I managed to do to some extent with the non-AI TTS (thanks to being able to freely change the pitch of each voice), but the AI TTS I demoed doesn't seem to have a pitch value for the voices, and the voices it has sound just human, and also less expressive, so it's more limited. I'd prefer not to use AI for my project anyway, considering the global issues AI companies are causing.

I'm curious how the audiobook will handle narrating different speakers, but that's to be seen (or heard). So I'll keep developing the script for everyone who can tolerate the robotic voices, including myself. That's the least I can do for this community as a thanks for allowing me to learn so much in one lifetime.

To continue to do something for someone when it has been politely refused by them is not giving, it’s taking. The actual ‘least that you can do’ is to do what has been asked: 1) stop producing your AI audio files of Laura’s intellectual property and 2) spend some time interacting here on the forum.

@Thraaros may also want to consider copyright infringement.

Copyright infringement occurs when someone uses a copyrighted work without permission, violating the exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder, such as the rights to reproduce, distribute, display, perform, or create derivative works from the protected material. This can include unauthorized copying, sharing, posting, modifying, or selling a work, whether for profit or not. Copyright protection is automatic upon fixation of the work in a tangible medium, and while a copyright notice (e.g., ©) is no longer required for protection, it remains a common practice.

Really looking forward to an audio book version of one of Laura’s books! You said this month? Amazing news!
Can I just say that I use the Audible app and after I’ve listened to a good book I play it back at 70-80% of the normal speed ie 0.7 or thereabouts (the voice is verrry slowww), and put the book on repeat and use it to fall asleep! 😴 It’s an excellent strategy for drifting off or when you wake up in the middle of the night! And it’s a wee bit like someone reading you a very long bedtime story!!!

I'll make one last attempt to explain, though I see my work is not welcome here. But I'm still assuming I'm talking with individuals, not a collective. And I'll be respectfully honest, as that is what I am.

I didn't see any administrator explicitly telling me to:
1) cease and desist (or just stop) doing anything I didn't have the right to do
2) delete the script
3) ask for permission before continuing updates
If I saw any of those, I would've done so for one reason or another. And still, nobody has told me to stop. Please, be explicit with your requests if you want me to follow them.

I'm writing this to defend myself, seeing @T.C. 's response. And if I'm making a mistake by defending myself, I'd like to learn why.

To continue to do something for someone when it has been politely refused by them is not giving, it’s taking.
I see that you want me to understand it, and I believe I do. Please correct me if I didn't. I'm not doing this for Chu, who politely refused. I'm doing it for those who may want it. I didn't assume that Chu was writing on behalf of the forum, because I thought I was talking with an individual, not a collective. But looking at what is currently 45 thumbs-up reactions, I can see now that the work I did isn't wanted, and that's fine.

I saw the "thank you, but" from Chu. Fine with me. If you don't need it, you don't have to use it. What if someone else on the forum needs it? Did I in any way, shape or form force anyone to do anything?

I saw "It's always better to post here first before launching into a project such as this". Well, my apologies for not asking if such a project was needed, if you consider it to be unnecessary. Sometimes I do things because I think they might be useful, even if they're not, like it seems to be in this case. However, I don't believe I did anything wrong by publishing my work. I don't understand why I'd need permission to publish a piece of code I wrote in RegEx if that's what this is all about.

The actual ‘least that you can do’ is to do what has been asked: 1) stop producing your AI audio files of Laura’s intellectual property and 2) spend some time interacting here on the forum.
Thank you for your opinion and suggestions.
1) It was not asked before you said it, and with all due respect, do you have the authority to tell me to stop? I can't see any credentials that would say you're an administrator, and I didn't see the administrators telling me to stop doing that.
2) I'll try
3) I won't produce any AI audio files. Feel free to delete the AI demo file, but the ones in the original post were NOT made by AI. I did want to show an example of how it sounds, though. But I will stop producing them not because it's intellectual property, as I don't believe in such a concept. I believe in the concept of property as something you have full control over, such as your body or your house, that you have the right to defend from theft (unless the government steals it from you, welcome to statism). I could explain further, but I'll leave you with a question: is copyright infringement a violation of freedom, or is suing/kidnapping and holding someone for ransom (through the police, of course) for copyright infringement a violation of freedom? I wonder if the C's have ever said anything about the definition of freedom.

Anyway, as I respect Laura's work and my script here doesn't seem to be wanted, I don't intend to post in this thread anymore. Peace.

One of the first things the Cs ever said was "Don't deify us! And make sure others don't either!".
Ah, I forgot to reply. I agree, I don't want to deify them, but they're not humans either (even if they're us from the future), so I thought it would be weird to hear them speak with a random human voice like all others.

It was not asked before you said it,

The above quotes are a good indicator of why request number 2 was asked of you: to interact more here on the forum.

For you to undertake a project like this shows that you obviously value Laura’s work and the Cassiopaean transmissions. And your efforts were appreciated. If it had been deemed in any way that you were up to no good or you were somehow attempting to misuse Laura’s work for underhanded reasons, then you would not have been encouraged to participate more on the forum - to get to know the group, and for the group to get to know you. You seem like a decent and honest person who wishes to help others.

But the difference between the people in this group - Laura’s group, who she is in continuous dialogue and contact with - and newcomers or others who just stumble across the transmissions, is that it is through participation with the network that we actually come to learn and understand many aspects of the C’s/Laura’s teachings and concepts. I for one (and I’m sure many others here can relate) thought I understood a lot of what the sessions contained until I started to participate in the group, and I found that I was just projecting my own interpretations onto things that the C’s were teaching Laura specifically.

So, one of those things is about STO - service to others. According to the C’s, STO gives all to those who ask, but for us STS beings in 3rd density, ‘the devil is in the details’, meaning, “what does it mean to ask?”, “what does it mean to give?”

Chu worded her post to you in a kind and considerate way because of the effort you had gone to. But if you read between the lines, then the message was, “Thanks. But, no thanks.”

I get that that wasn’t explicitly stated word for word. Again, I’ll point out that it’s because you come across as a good person.

As to your question about what authority I personally have to tell you what to do, what you can’t do with Laura’s work, etc., note that in my response to you, I didn’t actually tell you to do anything. All I did was to take Chu’s response and ‘increase the volume’ so that the message was a bit louder. If Chu had said, “Oh great! Thanks. We’ll look forward to your audio productions,” then I wouldn’t have written anything, because I don’t have any authority. Chu does.
