Hi Willow. I saw it a long time ago. I liked it, but don't remember much about it now. :)

It's a wonderful film. I consider it a classic, especially considering it's all done using puppets. More on it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Crystal

The movie makes an attempt to study the nature of good and evil in terms of conscience, destiny, and the triune nature of harmony.

Seeing it as a child, a lot of that went "over my head", but after watching as an adult I found it to be an excellent source for existential themes.

As far as kids fantasy movies go, the Dark Crystal is pretty good. I have it on DVD and watch it every now and then along with The Never-Ending Story, one of my favorites.
