The Day The Earth Stood Still

Bernhard

Jedi Master
The remake of the classic. Has anyone seen it yet?
General reviews haven't been so good: _http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/day_the_earth_stood_still/

However, I'm always curious to see how the alien topic is presented to the masses these days, so I might go and see it this week.

Saw it the other night, and we thought it was awful.

No spoilers.

(Wouldn't want to make it sound like it had a plot.)

Just AWFUL,

I wouldn't even download it illegally even if I was inclined to do such things.

Original better!

Thanks, yeah, everyone I talk to seems to have the the same review. Good sci-fi is hard to come by these days.

In relation to the things we discuss here, I would say that the main problem is that of "external judgment" and also "external salvation", and the notion that only a fraction of planets are habitable and protected by some galactic community. Just awful.

The original was far more interesting and with a message that humans need to stop their petty political infighting and destroying themselves with nuclear weapons. The new one however seems to have been sponsored by Al gore's global warming hoax agenda and twisted into stop driving and save the animals.

I saw it couple of weeks ago and that was awful + that little brat kid, but I admitting, kind of like that robot and the way it dissolved.

Hmmm I was quite entertained by the movie. It IMO was super awesome.

How odd you all disliked it....

However I never saw the old version...

Disturbing, close to "reality" but so nicely tuned and filtered, washed, reedited, twisted..........,....on the end question of free will is in danger, mine to, of waisting my time on watching this movie when I could read C's material and some books from homework list.
