The European Union: Glorious New 'Holy Roman Empire', Anglo-American Trojan Horse, or Left-Liberal Globalist Nightmare?

And yesterday she sold the rest of the EU to the US.
This EU capitulation is quite bizarre. The US will charge 15% tariffs and on some goods 50%, while the EU will charge 0%-1% on all US goods.

And on top of that the EU commits to buying energy and weapons from the US for $1.4 trillion - while it is not even clear how the EU plans to force EU companies to comply with that.

Maybe both Trump and the globalists who control the EU have the same goal of plundering the EU?

Is it possible that they expect political changes in the EU - maybe closer ties to Russia in some years - and want to strengthen the US empire while weakening Europe?

This EU capitulation is quite bizarre.
It's pitiful if not criminal.

Maybe both Trump and the globalists who control the EU have the same goal of plundering the EU?
Maybe? It seems quite obvious to me. Plundering and weakening, I'd say. To keep it out of the chessboard; not much has changed since it was so clear back in 1999, not to mention earlier machinations, and Trump seems to like the idea, so gladly exploits it.

One important part of it is that the euro is actually the main competitor to the dollar. Weakening the EU means weakening the main competitor currency as well.

The dollar has been dropping quite a lot lately, while the euro and many other currencies gained on it. It is good for US exports and not good for imports into the US - which actually may help Trump bring more manufacturing back to the US.

Still, it is strange that the globalists are weakening their last major power base - unless they expect to prevail in the US as well or have some sort of secret arrangement with China.

The Alexander’s at the Duran YouTube channel have previously pointed out how most of the EU leadership seemed utterly disinterested in negotiating tariffs with the USA. Instead maintaining their relentless obsession with Ukraine as the priority. Suspecting they were just hoping the issue will go away or Trump will forget about it.

The article below from euro news briefly covers the recent deal and explains why the promised investment is unlikely to happen.
Trump spoke on CNBC about the current state of markets in the US, but was quizzed about a pledge on investment made in the EU-US trade deal.
A controversial investment pledge forming part of the EU-US trade deal will need to be honoured by the EU or 35% blanket tariffs will be applied to the bloc, US President Donald Trump has warned.

On Tuesday President Trump was quizzed on the deal he agreed by handshake with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland on 27 July on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’ via phone.

He touted the US position - which a White House fact sheet stated - that the agreement included a pledge for the EU to invest $600 billion in the US by the end of his second term.

"This new investment is in addition to the over $100 billion (that) EU companies already invest in the United States every year," the fact sheet stated following the deal.

The European Commission is unable to design and implement investments on behalf of the private sector. The $600 billion has been described by the Commission as an indication based on the executive's contacts with industry.

"It's not something the EU, as a public authority, can guarantee – it's something based on the intention of private companies," a senior official said last week.

Asked on Squawk Box what teeth there were in the investment pledge element of the deal, Trump said, if it didn't happen, “then they pay tariffs of 35%”.

Trump said that the investment pledge was one of the reasons he had dropped tariffs to a blanket 15% rate, so if it is unfulfilled then higher tariffs will click back in.

The EU has been approached for comment.

The Commission on Tuesday suspended a package of trade countermeasures targeting €93 billions' worth of American goods which was scheduled to take effect on 7 August, as it continues to negotiate a joint statement formalising the agreement struck by von der Leyen and Trump in Scotland.

It increasingly looks like the EU Commission doesn’t have the authority to implement this investment deal. I can’t help but wonder if Ursula just shook on the deal before the cameras knowing full well they would not be able to uphold their end of the bargain and just hoping Trump will move onto other issues and forget about bullying the EU.
Instead, it seems given what Trump is now saying he is more likely to take greater offence from the EU’s pretense at a deal. Not that Trump and the European elite got on to begin with. It is foolish for the EU to continue to act in a manner that will alienate the USA whilst also ever increasingly locking themselves off from China and far more so Russia.

Ultimately Trump and the USA are still the winners here. The EU has been burdened with 15% tariffs and though Trump is unpredictable I can imagine he may follow through on his 35% tariff threat if he judges the EU has cheated him.
It just looks like the EU is digging an ever-deeper hole for itself.

It looks 90 countries are effected by Trump's tariff. He is unpredictable.
(Joe) What's the likely end result of Trump's "trade war"?

A: Bouquets and spoiled fruit.
Every country is managing the situation the way they can. Despite regional competitions, BRICS countries are reaching out to each other to manage the situation.
  • China is buying Brazil's coffee that normally sold to US to help the country.
  • India was given initially 25% asking it to open the agricultural markets and avoid buying Russian oil. If things comes to extreme end, it may stop buying oil from Russia. For now, it didn't agree for it, but trying to diversify. When it comes to opening agricultural markets, it is not going to happen. With 600,000 villages, almost half the population depending on agriculture and most still living villages and elections every few years, opening agricultural market is OUT of question for India.
    • After India pointed out US duplicity about buying uranium products from Russia, he increased Tariff's to 50%.
    • When Tariff's were announced China reached out to India. Now India reached out to China and Russia. High level visits to Russia is pretty common in any case.
We will see how it goes or how bad the fruits will become.

This doesn't look good. From a TG channel, translated. Can it be verified?

The European Union is preparing to launch a large-scale digital surveillance system capable of abolishing personal freedom on the Internet. Under the guise of protecting against security threats, the EU is returning to a previously rejected initiative called "Chat Control", which provides for mandatory scanning of all user messages and media files in messengers. In fact, we are talking about building total monitoring, covering both text and visual forms of communication — even in conditions of end-to-end encryption.

According to reports, 19 of the 27 EU member states have already expressed support for the project, while key states that had previously opposed it (in particular, France) have changed their position. The new discussion was initiated by Denmark on the first day of its presidency of the Council of the EU, and now it is likely that the system will be adopted by mid-October. Only one additional vote is enough - for example, from Germany, which has so far abstained - for the project to receive a qualified majority. This will create a legal basis for the legalization of mass total surveillance throughout the Union.

The essence of the project boils down to the mandatory introduction of algorithms into the digital infrastructure that will automatically analyze the contents of all messages sent through messengers like WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal. Even those services that position themselves as privacy defenders will be required to integrate decryption and control mechanisms, or leave the European market. Thus, the illusion of free and anonymous communication in the EU digital space is becoming less and less viable.

The arguments used in support of the initiative are traditionally based on the topic of combating terrorism, the spread of child pornography and other forms of digital violence. However, critics of the project point out that such a system can equally be used to suppress political dissent, control journalists, activists, and even for economic espionage in the interests of government or corporate structures.

In fact, we are talking about the formation of a digital censorship model, devoid of the need for court orders, with full automation of the surveillance process. The collected data will not only be analyzed, but also centrally processed to identify patterns of behavior, potential "threats" and suspicious groups. This opens up opportunities for the emergence of new forms of preventive harassment and control over private life. This undermines trust in institutions that promote human rights and causes cognitive dissonance among European citizens, many of whom perceive the Internet as a space of free self-realization.

Can it be verified?
Well, it seems to be true. According to what I’ve read, they, under the fierce leadership of Queen Ursula, have tried since 2019 to get something like this implemented.

Here is a video on the topic (also in English) by Dutchman Arno Wellens (who regularly works with Catherine Austin Fitts), which basically explains the following (from 07:00 onwards):

As per its first version, all commercial digital messaging providers would be required to perform indiscriminate scanning of all private messages to look for CSAM. That failed, due to privacy concerns and lack of support from countries. Then Victor Orbán launched a proposal to let the regulation only cover existing CSAM material that was known by the police forces, but that proposal also failed because of privacy issues and lack of sufficient support. [BTW the European Court of Human Rights issued a verdict in 2024 to ban all legal efforts to weaken the encryption of secure communications in Europe.] An EU document shown in the video states that the reason for the proposal was not to put more pedo-perverts behind bars, but for reasons of compliance costs: the commercial providers of digital messaging services would have had to retain lawyers etc. to deal with the regulations, and those costs for the internal EU market would have to come down, so, Arno explains, the investigation of CSAM can be put under the header "internal EU market," thereby making it a financial issue, meaning that the European Commission has the power to make laws and avoid ethical discussions.

Now basically the old Chat Control version is back, and all of a sudden the majority of the countries is pro, which Arno finds very strange. Denmark drafted a "A Strong Europe in a Changing World' document, in which the Chat Control proposal is contained, which is potentially adoptable by October 14, 2025, stating basically that criminals use digital tech (duh!), so we must go and look for data. All data, all private communications, including encrypted ones, so also grandma's summer BBQ pic of little Vicky, while real pedo criminals seem to use USB sticks, which Arno says is the real problem, but that isn't covered by the proposal. Now the proposal is before the European Parliament, and countries voting against must determine their position (by 12th september). So far the video.

However, this article of 6th August from TechRadar, titled "A 'political blackmail' – states that the EU Parliament is pressing for new mandatory scanning of your private chats," and discusses the EU Parliament's push to adopt a controversial child sexual abuse material (CSAM) scanning bill, dubbed "Chat Control," during Denmark's EU Presidency starting July 1, 2025.

A leaked memo, the article says, reveals the Parliament is pressuring the Council to agree to mandatory scanning by threatening to block an extension of the current voluntary scanning interim regulation, a move criticized as "political blackmail" by former German MEP Patrick Breyer (Arno Wellens mentions him also in his video). BTW, the current plan, naturally , exempts government, (some) corporate and military accounts.

According to the article, countries like Italy, Spain, and Hungary support it, while Germany and others remain undecided, with a decision deadline set for September 12, 2025. The Danish government plans to hold a decisive vote on October 14, 2025. Arno, and others on X f.i., think if Germany greenlights it, the law has a good chance to be implemented. Critics argue the measure risks mass surveillance and many false positives, while the EU Commission’s broader 'ProtectEU strategy' aims to enhance law enforcement access to encrypted data by 2030. I will definitely keep my eye on it.

From comments on X and some other articles, f.i. this one, critics expect that the regulation is technically impossible to execute, leading me to think that the CSAM excuse is a ruse and, if passed, the regulation mainly aims for restricting, or banning, free speech especially of dissenters, gear up the fear factor, spark more division, and mass surveillance of we, the taxpaying people.

the law has a good chance to be implemented
Just recently, WhatsApp added an AI assistant to the application. As we know, WhatsApp uses the same end-to-end encryption scheme as Signal (Double Ratchet), which means that (theoretically) messages are readable only on end devices (with forward secrecy). As AI assistants are energy-hungry and datacenter-powered, the contents of messages need to be sent in an unencrypted form to the AI service provider, rendering end-to-end encryption completely useless. Of course, the same AI inference infrastructure can be used by CSAM detection, as both run on top of tensor computations. So it looks like this is already known to be implemented.

For the other things, apart from the obvious UK's ID verification (that is also in the works in the EU), the GENIUS Act in the US seems to be another piece of the puzzle to bring us a global control grid. Programmable money (?) tied to biometric verification and analysis of wrongthink. We saw that coming, but it seems to be just around the corner... Stargate seems to be taking off:

Not related directly, but indicative that something of this type of operation was in store for the EU, was the call EC issued about a year ago for establishing big HPC datacenters or so called AI factories on national or EU member states level.
The call was officially distributed to top state level regulatory bodies, in Croatia to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, which then issued/forwarded the call to at least all universities and research institutes in the country.

I was wondering at the time why would the EC invest huge amounts of money in something like AI factories after the DeepSeek showed that AI can be trained for cca 1/10 of resources normally used by other AIs, but now kinda understand that it made sense to do it in preparation for large amount of all the 'messenger' data from ordinary population that need to be scanned through under the auspices of this 'control' regulation. Eh...
