The Truth Perspective -X-Files, Mothman and the inimitable John Keel

In 1975, John Keel published his strange and classic Mothman Prophecies about the even stranger events he experienced and investigated in 1966-67 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The book and the articles he wrote nearly 10 years before were decades ahead of their time, identifying and taking seriously countless topics that most people ignored or wrote off as fantasy, but which are now being taken seriously by many in the field of ufology. Today, we'll be taking a broad look at the book and the phenomena Keel described.

We'll also discuss an ongoing series of SOTT articles on the latest iteration of the X-Files: what it gets right, and what it gets wrong, and why it matters. And if there's time, we'll give a brief round-up of some current events. Tune in!

Oh, the excitement! Though, I haven't watched the new mini-series, yet. Gasp! ;) So spoilers, spoilers, eh? Anyways, sounds like an exciting show. Thank you!

Fantastic show tonight, guys. Great summary of John Keel's work and a good discussion of the latest X-Files series.

It was nice to be able to listen to it live for a change and participate in the chat room. Great stuff.

I second this! I don't know much about all this stuff, but I think it is highly interesting. I also like the High Strangeness articles by Ennio Adams, for I feel as if I am still a newbie to all of this. His articles are a good introduction to this topic IMO. So, thanks a lot!

I probably said this elsewhere but it bears repeating I think: If anyone here hasn't yet read Laura's book High Strangeness I really encourage you to. So many areas of this topic are covered so well and in such a clear way that I think all that is really needed is sincere curiosity - even if you haven't read a bunch of other books on the topic. Its also just a great and fascinating read!
