The wave chapter 24- the water canopy issue

I just started "The Wave-Chapter 24:The Bacchantes Meet Apollo At Stonehenge And Play The Third Man Theme. At the beginning of the chapter, The C's discuss with Laura the evidence of a water canopy back in the days of Noah and when Atlantis was destroyed. Of course the Bible claims that the Gods were kept awake by the copulation of humanity! So they destroyed everything, I.E. Sodom and Gomorrah, and the flood and Noah.

But my focus was on this water canopy. The C's and Laura discuss the close passage of a Celetial body(Martek, aka Mars), which caused Noah's great flood, which they also say is the symbolic explanation of the destruction of Atlantis. But prior to this(the C's confirmed in this chapter) the earths atmosphere consisted of a global water canopy, which is completely fascinating in itself. So I went and did some research on the alternate theories, or the debunking of this water canopy. Of course, I found a Christian website that claimed that this was completely untrue and that science had done a rebuttal on their theories proposing the water canopy.

_http://www.godandscience.org/youngearth/canopy.html: Article by Rich Deem

I quote first the bible from this website: "Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." And God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so. And God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day. (Genesis 1:6-8: NASB)2
"The claim is made that this "expanse" or "firmament" (KJV) is a description of the canopy. The theory seems to hold up in the description of the Genesis flood"(Deem):
"In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened." (Genesis 7:11: NASB)
Then they refer to the word "raqia" which means heaven or sky:
Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse [raqia] of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; (Genesis 1:14)
And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse [raqia] of the sky." (Genesis 1:20)
The explanation of this I thought was extremely fascinating, but of course, totally ignorant blind faith of the bible:
"As can be seen by the uses of raqia, the term is very broad, encompassing both outer space and the atmosphere of earth. Obviously, raqia could not be specifically referring to a water canopy. Other verses state that raqia is declaring (present tense) the work of God's hands. This cannot be referring to a water canopy, since one does not exist at this present time."(Deem)

"since one does not exist at this present time"???? Haha...that made me laugh!
This supposed Christian Monotheistic Voice of Truth with his science being absolute, of course, goes on later to explain that there was no way a water vapor canopy could have existed because it directly contradicts the bible. He said according to Genesis, the The great Flood waters receded and this could not have happened if the water came from a water canopy. Also, he explained that earths gravity would not allow this canopy. And that's because he knows for sure that the gravity on our planet was the same thousands of years ago? Also, its claimed, another problem is getting the water out of the atmosphere and onto the ground without cooking everything. I would read this article if you have a chance knowledge seekers, if not for education of the disinformation, but for pure enjoyment. The funny thing is, this writer that wrote the article probably is not trying to release disinformation, but he is so devout in his faith, that he thinks he speaks the word of God(aka the bible).

Hi Knowledge

I've been reading a translation of some of the bible being done by the folks over at _www.thechronicleproject.org who believe they have discovered that Ancient Hebrew has a 'Self Defining embedded system'. They have, rather than re-translate, restored some of these writings back to their original meanings.

In these translations they specifically mention this section of Genesis you are referring to. They also support the idea of a canopy and mention that computer models were done to test the effect of a water canopy around the planet and they suggest that:

'Acting like a lens, the sunlight would be distributed so that most
of the earth would become semi tropical by receiving equal light. The second effect, would be the screening of
almost all of the sun's harmful radiation, which might explain the rapid shortening of the human life span after
the bubble collapsed, forming part of the flood.'

It is all very interesting speculation, most of which I feel is true. Futhermore, I would love for the C's to verify if the translation system they are using is in fact the real, true, and correct way to translate Ancient Hebrew.

Thankyou for bringing up an interesting topic.

Thanks Hashhashin for the post. I would definitely love an inquiry from the C's on the answer to your question. Not to mention there are many other questions I would have for the C's, some questions probably being erroneous and others probably leaving me totally bewildered with their answer. But as they say " It's all just one big school full of lessons." That's very hard to accept sometimes with how arbitrary and malevolent our world seems at certain junctures. Keep up the quest of knowledge my friend!!

I don't have any expertise in the area of bible studies
This weather watcher/educator has produced a video about StarWater that is the only thing that remotely resonates with me about the water canopy references.
This I can understand although I have never seen a noctilucent cloud (sp?)

The presenter is also linked in other topics and has videos that I am fascinated by daily.

I think people over think this one.

Imagine for a moment, the biggest cloud you can think of, so big it covers the earth. Gravity at the time is not strong enough for the drops to collect, then be pulled towards the earth as they do now with our current gravitation. Mars swings by, gravity increases, it starts raining... ;)
