People who protest (or whistle blow) will lose their jobs and they can't afford to quit the struggle to survive. The others may simply be indifferent or chosing not to know. Perhaps they know that if they complain they will lose their jobs?

Bush has been such a good puppet president that it is possible that whoever's pulling his stings has one more 'assignment' for him and that is to be assassinated - so that martial law can be imposed. Who knows, if he was assassinated, then maybe the 'worst president in history' will get some sympathy, besides being 'used' for another purpose, that is.

Is it just me or does she look like she's saying, "Can't you see this is a great idea? Can't you see those evil elves wearing Al Qaeda nametags in Iraq? I can't be the only one who sees them!!"

Or...

"Would you just stop trying to do your Constitutionally mandated jobs of reigning in the insane power of the executive branch? For god's sake, people, get out of our way, this is NOT a democracy!"

Could just be me, but I haven't seen her look so desperate since the 9-11 Hearings - and what's actually really interesting is the the NYT chose to run this picture on the front page - not exactly flattering to the adiministration.

Aw, c'mon. They shouldn't insult the Klingons that way. The Klingons have way more couth and integrity than Condi Rice does.
