There's Something Rotten in the State of Policing in the USA
I read this article by Brently and while it is about policing in the US, there are many similarities, that is it is very simlar situation in other countries and while not such an extreme when it comes to use of force, under right circumstances it could end up the same under outside stimuli, problem being in the kind of people doing those jobs and higher ups as always. When it comes to my experiences with how thhe system is corrupt in country I live, here are some:
1. While on the academy, one lecturer of higher rank that is obesse choked cleaning women. There was an ambulance present. It was all hushed up but other cleaning women said what happened to us cadets. Guy got two days off as the cleaning women. Officers from station that did intervention were suprised he kept his job because it was not the first time. Other lecturers were instructrd to be silent.
2. During the practical work as a cadet in one city station, guys in the patrol with which I was assigned drank much(and the other cadet but I did not) and the guy said to me not to talk, I talked about it only to few fellow cadets. Chief of shift did not like me because I did not get into police syndicate because he was in charge of that and for every new member would get benefits. Working with one other in the patrol who was very arrogant toward us cadets and clients and attacked me for smoking during intervention to some neighbour dispute and after guy saying he will write about it and me saying to write what he wants he went to the chief of shift who wanted me to apologise to this officer threating me I would never work as an officer. When I did in a grey stone way guy got upset. In the end the story went out I snitched two others mentioned above to chief of station that spread to other stations in the city, I suspect this chief of shift had something to do with it.
3. On the academy one lecturer/instructor threathend other women cadet she will never work if he pulled strings because she commented on something in her bear.
4. Instructors getting very drunk during some social gathrrings in the presence of cadet , so much that saliva went out of thrir mouths, while cadets could not use or posses any alchohols during whole 11 months there in boot camp.
5.Lecturer instructing us how to cover in reports if using too much force.
There were and other many situations.
Service
6. One inspector during the theft from store discharged his weapon on the robber while he was running away, he missed him but the bullet went between him and other officer that was chasing him, it was caught on camera but it was all hushed up and that inspector went to pension. He did not have legal justification to use his firearm, they forced him to go because he had numerous prior incidents.
I have to go now but will continue when I ll have time if it is allowed.
