In fact, I believe he stated that two men w/ checkered pants were spotted climbing on the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant, WV - the Mothman sightings locale - before the bridge fell. And as the Cs have stated, the upping of eletromagnetic fields will allow more paranormal intrusions.

One has to wonder, too, if the fact that these mysterious sightings are of clowns, if that is symbolic in any way. Our presidential election process has certainly been a circus w/ two of the most unpopular candidates of all time.

It all began with a pair of reports to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 20 of "a suspicious person dressed in circus clown clothing and white face paint" trying to lure kids into the woods close to Fleetwood Manor Apartments.

One woman said her son reported seeing clowns "whispering" and trying to lure him into the woods and, later, saw clowns in the same area flashing green lights.

But it's not just children reporting the sightings, per WYFF's report.

Another resident told the deputy that when she was walking to her home on Aug. 21 at about 2:30 a.m., she saw a large clown with a “blinking nose” standing under lamp post near a dumpster. She said the clown waved at her, but did not approach her or speak.

Just this week, we've heard of at least six reported clown sightings between Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem and Rural Hall. Whether the reports are real have certainly concerned parents and puzzled law enforcement.

It's proving to be a serious situation for professional clowns. So much so, one clown couple has considered giving up the profession altogether. They say they don't have many other options.

Joseph and Lisa Brown, better known as Jazz and Jojo, have made clowning a major part of their livelihood.

"We want to make kids laugh and adults laugh and ease worries away for the day or the hour that we're there or the two hours that we're there,"

said Lisa.

She’s been a professional clown for 14 years. Joseph, a clown school graduate, is in his 25th year as a clown.

"That shows you how much that I have put into it and have enjoyed the career that I've had being Jojo the clown,"

said Joseph.

For the Forsyth County couple, it's upsetting to hear about people impersonating clowns and scaring children.

"I'm angry because what we've worked so hard for, they're ruining, it's sadness because I don't understand why they would have to do it,"

admitted Lisa.

Now they say they're scared to go out in public in costume.

"What would we run into?”

asked Joseph.

“Would we be pulled over by the Sheriff or police? Would we be chased down by somebody?"

Birthday parties, nursing homes, restaurants, the couple used to have as many as 10 gigs per week. Since the clown sightings, that number has dropped to zero.

"The phone's not ringing and we have talked about seriously between the two of us well why don't we just give it up,"

admitted Joseph.

A tough decision to consider knowing why they do it in the first place: the kids.

"And just to see that smile on that face before we leave there,"

added Joseph.

Joseph and Lisa hope their profession, decades in the making, doesn't have to end this way.

"It hurts from the heart."

John Wayne Gacy, Jr. (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994), also known as the Killer Clown, was an American serial killer and rapist. He sexually assaulted and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978 in Cook County, Illinois.

Convicted of 33 murders, Gacy was sentenced to death for 12 of these killings on March 13, 1980. He spent 14 years on death row before he was executed by lethal injection at Stateville Correctional Center on May 10, 1994.

Gacy became known as the "Killer Clown" due to his charitable services at fundraising events, parades, and children's parties where he would dress as "Pogo the Clown", a character he devised himself.

Interesting that Gacy clowned for children, but lured - "by force or deception" - teenagers & young men for victims.

In returning home from an appointment, I passed a home all decked out in spooky Halloween decoration. If one has visited a Halloween decor retail store, you will find plenty of demonic clown paraphernalia. Not sure when that aspect became prominent in spooky stuff for home and parties, but I don't recall seeing that type of thing either when I was of trick or treating age or when my kids were of that age. Since Halloween starts to kick in right after Labor Day, I won't be surprised if clown sightings increase in frequency - copycats strickly for laughs or more sinister purposes.

Interesting about the window faller idea. My kids were always afraid of clowns. There was a movie out a while back called Killer Klowns from Outer Space. This clip ties in the pod-people idea.

Clowns have always been diabolic. They are mean and not well educated. I don't like them. They think they are right to put some cream pies on the face of people, like nothing. For them is fun to insult people and humiliated them. They are psychopaths. They are not funny at all. They are like the people who control this planet. These clown sightings are really strange, and I also read the comments from Stephen King on Sott regarding the sightings; and im not sure at this stage. I just don't think its coincidental that the clowns sightings are occurring during this chaotic period.

I recall reading IT for the firs time at 15, and I was really freaked out by it - and immediately after that always being extra careful near drainage systems and sewers !...what I did like about the story, was the that the children in the story returned as adults to "banish the clown" which turned out to be a giant spider lurking in the sewers. I recall it took King about 4 years to write the story, and im not sure what compelled him to spend that much time to write such a story. Just some thoughts fwiw.

We have also had reports of this in our local news. I really am not sure what to make of it. It has been mainly social media threats and not real sightings.

It's going on here in the Houston area as well, and now they have charged a student with making 'terrorist' threats.

After clown-themed social media threats led to extra security and lockdowns at some area schools, the Houston Independent School District said Monday that one of its students had been arrested for making one of the threats.

The school district said a 14-year-old was charged by prosecutors with "making terrorist threats" after he allegedly posted a social media message, but officials are still investigating other threats made against Houston ISD and other local schools. The student was not identified by the school district because he is a minor.

At least nine Houston-area schools in five districts received clown-related threats of violence between Thursday and Monday. The threats have largely been deemed to be hoaxes, but districts across the region added security to their campuses in a display of caution.

It seems that everyone is jumping on the clown bandwagon. This was a news article from UK online news "The Guardian" today.

"Schoolchildren have been targeted by people in clown costumes jumping out from behind bushes in US-inspired craze."

Apparently many of the children concerned were very distressed by this. Too early for Halloween I would think.

I cannot speak for other areas of the country but what I do think is that some clown is gonna get killed. Where I live, one might consider the population as heavily armed, no-nonsense good ole' boys. Sadly, the kind of cannon fodder that gets all caught up in the patriotic amerikan way.

I bet dollars to doughnuts that if some dummy dressed up as a clown at night was in the wrong place, in front of the wrong people, they will get shot...
