The Living Force
Amy said:by Knowing of ourselves , of what we think, of what we feel inside through interactions
we understand how things work and how to resolve things from the core.
it's not that I 'may not like to protect myself'
but I have learned to build my own belief that
I am protected all the time.
This belief is powerful enough to have allowed me a free mind for more important works.
Also , a free mind will have more ability to look larger, not only to the left and the right,
but also above , below, front and back , ... at one moment ...
There may be a problem if we only rely on what we think is our core, as we cannot really think with the way we think- as we are constantly swayed by unseen scared and lazy processes of the mind ('system 1' if you take the cognitive psychology lens), neither can we really see ourselves, as we are lulled and buffered with all kinds of distorted viewpoints- to see ourselves we need others to correct our view.
Knowledge protects, and it needs a continuous input in striving towards an objective view- book knowledge too, as we need to challenge the lazy faculties which love to dream and wishfully think. Believing we are protected doesn't really make it so, even though we can feel good and safe by believing all kinds of things. I tend to think that the more we (make) believe, the more we close ourselves off from a positive and objective reality, and follow a different path than the one we imagine.
Just an alternative view, for what it's worth.
