Too funny.

This, of all things, might literally be too funny...

I was playing with charts and graphs (as I do, lol), and wondered what would happen if the atomic numbers of the seven metals associated with the steps of alchemy were graphed. Check it out... (attached)

You might want to sit down first... this is a good one.

JonnyRadar, I would like to understand ... I have no idea what's going on :P
How did you choose the metals?

I see the graph is going ''one'' step down and then another and then up and then the cooper spoils the fun (??), then up and down ... is alchemy mostly based on these metals??

Sorry, should've clarified a bit. In a lot of the old alchemical literature these seven metals are commonly associated with the "steps" of alchemy. The steps refer to the process of transmutation, or creating the philosopher's stone. Personally I take the meaning to metaphoric, as in the steps symbolize the path of personal transformation - the changes a person goes through when on the path of fusing a magnetic center, as described by Mouravieff.

The funny part is when you graph the atomic numbers of these seven metals in sequence, it resembles the constellation Cassiopaea, and if you leave copper out, it looks exactly like Cassiopaea. Copper (or Conjunction) is the 4th step. 7 steps, 7 densities, the 4th step could be seen as 4th density...

But I'm treading dangerously close to wiseacring -- that's why I put it in the Tickle Me board... it just made me laugh, kind of like a geek joke. :)

Thks for the clarification JonnyRadar; I understand at what I am looking at list :P Very interesting

Hey J Rad, have you married these metals/notes - musically, and if so... the result being?

Mod's note: Edited to change the color to black so it is easier for the members of this forum to read your post.

JonnyRadar, did you just invent a new kind of geek jokes? for Alchemy geeks?

Lol!

@scazd, yep, there's a lot of relationships here, mostly based off the number 7, which incidentally the Cs say is the "optimal number." It makes sense, and is also funny, to see how the different structures of concepts that are based off of 7 work together... I have some illustrations from my time without a computer (been computerless at home for a couple weeks), that I can scan and post at some point...

Gotta keep it light hearted though, otherwise I'll end up in my basement with a spagyrus and pale skin, mumbling about the green lion and playing with spiders.

This is so amazing and that the idea to make this graph just "came" to you - which theme song should be playing: Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, or the X Files?!
The wonderment of it all!
