Top 3 scientific discoveries...

Hey everyone, I thought i'd post this in the science section, if ya don't mind.

I had an idea for a video "top 3 scientific discoveries" and I figured i would ask the brainiacs (that's a complement btw) what do you all think??

I want to know what you guys think, in your own opinions, the 3 best breakthroughs in science. Just to narrow it down, we'll say limit it to no earlier than the 20th century, for simplicity sakes.

I don't mean to make noise, but i'm sure there's a ton of different opinions on what you would consider the top 3 of said group. Your input is greatly appreciated! :D

Hi Abstract

It’s not very easy to narrow down all our scientific breakthroughs to only 3. You have to be more specific, what category of science do you want? Are you interested in only theoretical breakthroughs, practical inventions or both?

For example if you were to say aviation and navigation, then my top three breakthroughs would be:
1. Jet Engine
2. Radar
3. GPS (Global Positioning System)

Communications:
1. WWW (World Wide Web)
2. Radio (Satellites, WiFi, Mobiles, etc)
3. Fiber Optics

Engineering:
1. AC (Alternating Current) Electricity, the birth of the electric grid
2. IC (Integrated Circuits) the birth of microprocessors and modern computers
3. Internal Combustion Engine

Physics:
1. Nuclear technology (Nuclear bombs, power generation)
2. Laser
3. Transistor (The birth of modern electronics)

Biology:
1. DNA Profiling (Forensic)
2. Microscope (maybe this one should be under physics)
3. Penicillin (the birth of antibiotics)

I’m pretty sure there are much more breakthroughs that are just as important as the ones I’ve mentioned, if not more. Just do a quick search on the WWW for “breakthroughs in” and add the category you want e.g. medicine, chemistry, manufacturing, transportation, astronomy, and so on.

Those are all excellent suggestions! okay, let's expand it to top 3 among a series of categories.

Lets say...top 3 inventions, then top 3 "theoretical breakthoughs."

how's that sound? or should we expand to five or ten?

FWIW, my own take on "top scientific discoveries" is that they are more for control and manipulation of humanity in a desired direction. Take GPS for example. So we have all these satellites out there which helps navigation and yet on the other who's to say that these very same satellites are not used to blanket the entire planet with frequencies to keep us malleable?

For a given individual in the Work, using the scientific method of learning and gaining increasing objectivity, may I suggest that the "top 3 scientific discoveries" for said individual are the top 3 things he/she has learned about themselves?

1. The Internet - 90%(?) of which is pornography and junk which leads people astray or keeping them busy doing nothing.

2. The automatic washing machine - Introduces highly toxic chemicals in our clothes which causes us to fall sick and then seek the very people who introduce the toxins in the first place, for a cure!!!

3. The DNA sequence - So that they can eventually create hybrids for easier control and manipulation? Can anyone show me where all these DNA research has led to a break through cure and people have benefited from it? What I see is the exact opposite; more and more people are sick physically, emotionally and spiritually.

That is the standard pattern for many things; t.v, mass media, video games... are doing the same thing. But I must thank internet because without internet i might have never found Laura, SOTT, this forum, this group, FOTCM, the real answer about this world... So i do not know if it classes in the top 3 but it has been an important discovery for me.

For my mother it was in the top 3. Being 9 at home when i was a child may i tell you that she was extremely happy when the automatic washing machine arrived. I might be way out but i do not think that it is the machine that is the problem but the soap we put in it. So we have to be very careful with the choice of the soap if we do not want any toxic chemicals in our clothes.

Agreed. Just wanted to state that the discoveries are not the issue but it been co-opted for negative ends is the problem. Apologies if that didn't come across clearly.

I agree. Just think about how hard it would be to access knowledge without the Internet. Or compare our group with Gurdjieff's. The Internet enabled Laura to reach a much wider audience than Gurdjieff ever could.

-snicker- -snicker- seriously though, that's ridiculous.

K, I think those are good suggestions vulcan! It makes sense to do those 3 instead of something like the washing machine, lol. Not that a washing machine is a bad invention, it's just that it's a bit of a
one-trick pony.

Anyway, I think i might go with your specific suggestions, vulcan. It'd be a good way to give the forum a bit more exposure, if anyone ends up watching it besides me and us.

It's funny that with each discovery comes the application through all the names of god depending on your field of use and/or study....

Net is up there due to personal self discovery, but to make sense of that I can go in 2 directions-

1. It has been one of the tools necessary for the application of the 'work' today to reach millions more than otherwise and to supply knowledge otherwise left to the localized area of work- (in this case the % of pornography on the net needs no mention due to all the names of god being applicable, of the remaining 10%, how much is disinformation?)

2. Nicoli Tesla's work in electromagnetics in which fields upon fields of science has arisen giving rise to our current level of communication and technology (in general) in our chosen field of study/use/application
