Touchstone Pictures Logo - comets striking earth?

i watched 'surrogates' on the weekend and noticed something in the Touchstones Pictures logo (disney) - it looks like the 3 'lightning bolts' could be comets - i say this because in the newest version of the logo, there seems to be some sort of shock wave rolling over the planet after the bolts show up.

I thought the "wave" was really just a reflection on the surface as the words "Touchstone" approached the Earth. But that could be the low res of YouTue (420p)

but it still looks like a shockwave to my eyes. ;)

Regarding comets and logos, every time I'm in the cinema and the Paramount logo comes up I get the chills:
