P.s here's the sott link..

Last year in July as well, there was another Trans Asia crash : link to Sott article:

There is also video in RT of the final moments of the fatal crash caught on a car dash-cam

In the CNN article it specifies it's a French made plane... Do you think this has any significance?

Not sure about the French connection, but it is interesting to note, that in the past 12 months, Malaysian and Taiwanese aviation companies have been involved in 5 major incidents...

Good lord, that’s just shocking.

Not meaning to be trivial here, but what’s up with the added piano music on the video? Why add any music? Just seems a bit weird that.

Another plane thing...?

Had the same shocking feeling, as if watching a movie instead of an actual catastrophic event. The piano music nonetheless also kind of reminded me of some of the Jewish holocaust TV reports, maybe a connection was made there at least.

Taiwanese officials said the aircraft, a turboprop ATR 72-600, crashed shortly after takeoff from Taipei Songshan Airport.

The aircraft was filmed as it passes close to some buildings before careening towards a highway. Moments before impact, the plane turns on its side, its left wing clipping the overpass guardrail as well as the roof of a moving vehicle. The plane’s underside is clearly visible as the falling aircraft narrowly misses a full crash into the roadway.

The last message from the cockpit was "Mayday Mayday engine flameout," according to an air traffic control transcript on liveatc.net. Twin-engine planes, however, are usually able to continue flying when one of the engines shuts down.

http://rt.com/news/229099-taiwan-plane-crash-landing-river/

A flameout refers to the run-down of a jet engine caused by the extinction of the flame in the combustion chamber. It can be caused by a number of factors, including fuel starvation, compressor stall, insufficient oxygen (at high altitudes), foreign object damage (such as caused by birds, hail or volcanic ash), severe inclement weather, mechanical failure and very cold ambient temperatures....

A flame-out is most likely to occur when flying through certain weather conditions at a low power setting such as flight idle (e.g. during the descent). These conditions include flight through moderate to heavy turbulence, rain, hail or sleet. The potentially hazardous circumstances are highlighted in the flight manual with a requirement to select continuous ignition. Alternatively, the FADEC engine controller will select ignition automatically if it detects specific changes in engine parameters. It will also perform a relight if necessary. A manual re-light attempt is made by following the procedure in the Flight Operations Manual.....

It is common practice for pilots to be taught, and practice, flame-out landings

Yet another shocking aircraft crash. The weather conditions didn't seem extreme, so wonder what caused this sudden 'engine flameout'?

I don't want to be mean, but this accident doesn't look real. It looks fake. And what about the sound? When an airplane is on the brink of crash I imagine there is a big sound. How come we do no hear anything? even if we are inside the car. It seems a superimpose image. But then we see people on the water, and that's maybe the only true footage.

Loreta- You're not being "mean", just making observations. :)

Perhaps the camera only records visual images?

As for the music, I notice that people tend to add it to make what the viewer is watching seem more dramatic. It does feel like watching a scene out of a movie. The problem with that though, is that the images/video aren't seen in 'reality'. I really doubt there was music playing when that plane crashed so why not let the video 'speak for itself'.

Did anyone notice that the car in front was struck by the wingtip? Then it veered across the road. I wonder how the driver and passengers survived. Pretty tragic all round.

Quote from the article:
"When the plane TransAsia Airways crashed in February in Taiwan, it appears that this happened because the pilot noticed that one engine gave out and then mistakenly excluded and others, announced on Thursday the Council of aviation safety information about the accident, which claimed 43 life.

Three minutes after takeoff black box recorded the pilot's words: "Oh, I pulled the wrong lever," it said in its latest report in connection with the accident.
