'Transcendental Illumination' (4D STS discussed in old hippie novel?)

The Force is Strong With This One
I just remembered from an old counterculture novel that I read, The Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, that the ultimate goal of the 'Bavarian Illuminati' was something they called 'Transcendental Illumination':

The Illuminatus! Trilogy said:
[The Illuminati] want to become like gods. It's possible for humans, given the right methods, to translate themselves into sentient latticeworks of pure energy that will be more or less permanent. The process is called transcendental illumination, to distinguish it from the acquisition of insight into the true nature of man and the universe, which is ordinary illumination. [...] However, prior to becoming energy fields men often fall victim to hubris. Their actions cause pain to others and make them insensitive, uncreative and irrational. Mass human sacrifice is the most reliable method of achieving transcendental illumination. Human sacrifice can, of course, be masked as other things, such as war, famine and plague. [emphasis added]

Now, of course, this book was intended as satirical fiction. But reading it was one of the things that made me realise that there are higher negative forces manipulating humanity for their own ends (presented in the book as the 'lloigor' of the Cthulhu Mythos). And, of course, the 'Illuminati' of the book are working with them.

The book mentions the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust, and various wars as examples of this mass human sacrifice.

Now, this actually reminds me of graduation to 4D STS. Perhaps, by doing acts of extreme evil, the higher human levels of the shadow government are deliberately building negative energy within themselves to aid them in becoming very powerful 4D STS beings (as Ra said, one must be at least 95% negative to graduate to 4D STS). And we know that they're in cahoots with 4D STS already.

Perhaps the 'ordinary illumination' could be construed as graduation to 4D STO as well.

It's eerie how a novel written by a couple of drugged-out hippies could mirror the truth relatively accurately!

In any case, does anyone have any thoughts on either the novel itself (in relation to objective research) or on this hypothesis?
