Translating Life is Religion to Portuguese

I've been working on a translation of Life is Religion to Portuguese for a while now.

I really liked it from day one and I was initially motivated to translate it as an effort to contribute to the network. Later on I was also motivated by a friend who is interested in spiritual pursuits but doesn't understand much of English. I gave him the only book I had in Portuguese (Gnosis I) but since I know of no other source that compiles such information as this network, let alone available in Portuguese, I thought it would be a meaningful gift if I could give him this book to read.

The protests in Brazil in June also gave me the thought that such a book could maybe be useful for those that are striving to find something better for them and their families and to help them not to get stuck in the web of deceit that is our environment (maybe some nonlinear effect could kick in?).

Nevertheless, even with all these motivations I had a hard time facing all the distractions that came into play and my own weaknesses that kept me away from this work. Fortunately I recently managed to build some strength and finish the part of the 12 exercises (attached). I'm currently working on the parables and expanded glossary.

It is all done with "track changes" in MS Word, so it is easy to check against the original. It would be great if someone could take a critical look. Please note that this is Portuguese as spoken in Brazil, as I know there are many differences in relation to Portugal and other countries.

Since I don't know if a printed version would have any demand, I thought maybe a digital version or simply a web version would be great. My idea was really just to "spread the word". What do you think?

Since Life is Religion is not currently available in a free web version, may I send my translation to my friend? It is not originally my work, so I would like to ask the network for permission.

THANK YOU! This is great. Let's see who is willing to proofread it (I will send it to the translation team, but anybody in the forum is welcome to volunteer too!). Our publishing companies are now selling kindle books in Amazon.com.br, so "Life is Religion" could be a great addition. Unfortunately, the Portuguese translation team hasn't been very active lately, but in the past they accomplished great work.

Also, if you translate something that can be made available on the Cassiopaea website, we can create a subpage and publish it there too, and see if more Portuguese speaking readers get interested.

It is great to know that there is a venue available for publication. Once I'm done with Life is Religion I would like to keep translating or to even write something to spread the ideas espoused by the network. However, I have a history of failure in carrying out projects to completion, so lets see if I manage to keep this stubborn machine of mine on track.

On that note, I apologize for not keeping up with the translation team in the past and just sort of disappearing. I'm ashamed by my conduct. In retrospect I think I was in over my head and didn't have the minimum necessary control over my actions to do what I said I would.

Well, you weren't the only one. The other Portuguese speakers also stopped translating. Maybe this will motivate you all to do a little every day. It's a very good start in my opinion. According to wikipedia, Portuguese is the 7nth most spoken language in the world. So, it really is a pity that we don't have more material available in your language.

I'm another Portuguese speaker to help here. I'm usually busy with the Spanish team, so maybe I haven't got a lot of time to add more projects to the list, but I'll be glad to help in at least some small things...

As I said in the translation team, Portuguese is my mother language but I've only learnt it orally, I never learnt the language's grammar, so I don't know if I can be of much help in this team. Nevertheless, just let me know if there's something I can do. Maybe the initial translation of short material doesn't require a lot of grammar knowledge.
