Trump Elected: The True MAGA Era Begins, Now What?

So... right.... that was an interesting exchange. What's missing is that Ukraine were busy massacring Russians and were threatening to join NATO hence forcing the hand of the Russian government to send troops in. Rather than tell Zelensky off like a naughty child, Trump should roll out the truth tickets showing what truly started this war, including the massacre at Odessa where Russians were lynched and burnt on the streets.

The video just looks like zelensky is a victim but in reality he is responsible for heinous crimes, including providing cover for the banderetas. Trump should focus on telling the truth rather than demonstrating he has more power - the latter will move public opinion and sympathy towards Zelensky especially if the average Joe doesn't know the truth of what caused Russia to finally send troops into Ukraine.

Yeah, most don't have a clue, and this is going to make Trump look like a bully, and the left with have a field day with it.

Macron and Stremer were humiliated. They deserve it and more. Zelenskii on the other hand humiliated himself. You can see his ambassador's embarrassment. His behavior as a guest in someone else's house is wrong on so many levels it's more like a Monty Python sketch than anything resembling a ex president on a diplomatic mission. Even a diplomatic envoy from an enemy is polite.

You have said it better, just to express my amazement at the insolence of the Green Goblin, my jaw just dropped. Never thought of witnessing a head of state acting this way. This will do exactly the opposite of whatever they wanted out of this meeting. For as little support Ukraine had among the American public, this will just crush it to dust.

I've never seen anything like that ever. Unbelievable!!
Completely agree with you. Tell the truth, gives us a factual account of how the war started hopefully with Trump and Putin sat next to each other.
So many British/European leaders long for the war to continue and this will certainly of triggered their delicate feelings as the money train grinds to a halt!

I think Trump and Vance handled that very well and it gives a pretty interesting insight into how Trump thinks and can handle such situations while staying boss. Quite impressive actually. Trump seems to have quite some instincts. Also interesting how Vance was the first one addressing the real problems with that guy after he again forgot about the basic ways in which you converse with people on such a level.

As for “bullying“, I don’t quite understand that sentiment in the overall context of the situation and this president dictator. Trump and Vance basically successfully countered a bunch of lies and manipulation of Zelensky. Yes, he is a puppet, but never forget the amount of blood he has on his hands and his notorious lying. And in fact, right now, with what he is saying and doing, he is killing thousands of people every week, while sending countless people, this minute, to an almost sure death against their will and against any chances of winning anything.

As for “what the media will make out of this“: Who cares, really?

One thing I'm trying to wrap my head around (and I'm not the only one) is why on earth are the Europeans so hell-bent on continuing the war in Ukraine. I mean, before Trump it looked like they are basically US vassals, doing their bidding even while it's totally against their own interests. But now that the US has changed course, why double down? It would be one thing to rhetorically "ease out" of the whole thing instead of just abandoning it immediately to keep up appearances and not rock the boat. But there's a crazy determination here that I find hard to explain.

Plain old hatred for Russia? Rogue CIA/Deep State still running the show in Europe? Money laundering? The only thing that really makes sense to me is that the EU elite seeks to centralize more power in Brussels (they always do), and "building a European army" is a great tool for that (the army is a pipe dream, but it sure would shift a lot of money and power to Brussels). But even then, it seems strange. NPC firmware update failed and now the device is bricked!?
This guy looks like he might do something silly when he gets into power:

I was worried that it was Starmer who was going to be stupid but this guy looks like he might actually think like Russia can be defeated militarily.

At this stage in the game, I simply think the EU elites would be reacting out of pure emotion from all the talking down from the US.

It dawned on me that America may have pivoted to befriending Russia in order to remove Russia from China's sphere. Or perhaps AI has told them they'd gain more by befriending Russia and just screwing over the EU.

I also think it's wise for German elites to be careful with aligning with Zelensky against Russia given the Nazi connection. That card can always be played by the US at some point and that would be a tough one for the new Chancellor to navigate!

As to why Starmer cares about Ukraine, I think for him it's just about keeping the UK relevant. I don't think the UK elites are ideologically committed to Ukraine beyond doing chess moves to keep the UK punching above its weight size wise.
