On October 23, 2011 the camera under the helicopter of the VPRO-programme The Netherlands from above filmed this object. We ourselves do not know what it is. Is it simply a bird? A weather balloon? Or something more exciting? Let us know your views and opinions.

This footage was filmed between Harlingen and Terschelling, looking southwest (in the distance you can see the Afsluitdijk). Presumably between 16.30 and 17.00 hours. Keep in mind that the camera could have been zooming in, possibly distorting the seemingly enormous speed with which this UFO flies.

More flying objects in the final episode of The Netherlands from above [Channel: Nederland 1 at 10.20 pm, on Tuesday 7 February].

It might well be a hoax since this footage is meant to be the promo-intro to the final episode of a TV series with aerial views of The Netherlands, filmed and produced by a station/broadcaster who wouldn't shy away from pulling one over their audience every once in a while, just for publicity reasons. But who knows for sure?
