Video of strange electrical or plasma phenomenon?

Today another curious video was discussed on the Russian TV and Russian web.

In the following video you can see a strange huge "cloud formation" or lightning of sort. Russian TV says this is an example of either "sprites, blue jets or elves". The creators of the video as usual claim it is a UFO. Pity that they lack proper knowledge to see that it could equally be a plasma phenomenon. On the other hand, "sprites, blue jets or elves" being part of the electrical phenomena are not so far off explanation as well. Thoughts?

My first thought was a comet interacting with plasma/electrical in the atmosphere (since there's an "explosion" and then a "trail").

I could be wrong, though. Very curious, indeed.

Just looks like plasma exchanges between differently charged layers of the atmosphere.

But then, again, that doesn't mean that there is not some 4D dynamic going on!!! We just don't know enough about electricity, atmospheric layers, plasma, and 4D!

This video was taken a few nights ago over the Pacific and seems to show plasma-like discharges. What do you think?

Bright flashes of circular 'light' over Pacific Ocean | Whoa!

The bright flashes you will see in this video transpired over the course of 40 minutes. It is not a fireball and is not thunderstorm related. Very odd

Mysterious St. Elmo’s fire ignites blue sparks on finger tips at Lake Monona, Wisconsin

Look at this! These guys are experiencing small blue sparks on their finger tips as well as a static noise at Lake Monona, Wisconsin.
Yes, that’s the rare and mysterious St. Elmo’s fire phenomenon.

The St. Elmo’s fire phenomenon occurs when tiny charges in electricity from an object meet the naturally occurring charges in the air.

If the charges in the air are unusually high, often caused by a nearby storm, the clash can be so great that currents ionize and, when combined with nitrogen and oxygen, produce a blue color.

In this case, a snowstorm close by filled the air with the buzz of electricity.

The phenomenon is usually seen by pilots when streaks of electricity appear on a plane when flying through a thunderstorm.

Could this be also strange electrical or plasma phenomenon? or what it could be? Was seen in Mexico City, 5 of August, 2016

It looks like it to me. Although this one isn't as clearly defined, there appears to be a similarity with this glowing light observed over the Netherlands last year. The article also includes a photo of another greenish plasma-like formation taken above Chicago the previous September.

Perhaps as atmospheric changes increase, such related phenomena will become a lot more common.

Interesting, clouds got in between, thoguh. I had been observing iridiscent clouds, halos etc ... in Mexico City and we also have Popocatepetl's volcanoe quite near ...

Here's another video of possible plasma phenomena. The poster thinks it's a ufo, but it looks to me more like the videos of the circling fireball seen in London a couple of years ago. The strange changes in direction happen towards the end.

The UFO online community got abuzz after a video that shows mysterious three orange balls moving in the sky and repeatedly changing direction was uploaded online. What makes the scene more interesting is that a trail of sparkling white light follows the strange balls.

Jeremy Le Fevre noticed the bizarre happening in the sky near his home in Frome, Somerset on Saturday evening. He referred the three orange balls and the white light behind as one single UFO.
Jeremy saw the unusual object moving erratically with green lights. He then recorded its unusual manoeuvres on video.

According to Jeremy, it was the first time he saw such thing, which went on for several minutes before it flew off into the distance towards Longleat.

Jeremy saw the UFO emitting green and red colours.

Some UFO enthusiasts regarded the nearby town of Warminster as Britain’s UFO capital. The most notable account is the encounter in the mid-1960s that is now known as the Warminster Thing.

In the skies above the town, unexplained noises were heard, and a strange shimmering light was observed.

Just saw this on SOTT. There is an explanation for the flashing lights, as some electrical transformers exploded in Queens, NYC, but the way the sky is behaving, it seems to go beyond just reflecting the lights of the explosions. A large part of the overcast sky turns electric blue! More evidence of the atmosphere becoming more electrically charged?

There are lots of pics and tweeted vids in the article which give a good survey of what people were seeing.

There's a lot of rumor happening around this explosion. One guy has a video up where he shows a UFO coming from the area, it could be anything though:

Official explanation is that it was a transformer explosion, but there are few reports of power loss, and only coming from the immediate area. It changed the entire sky around the city deep blue. De Blasio's chief spokesman even went so far as to explicitly state it was "not aliens."

I've attached some more images. The video of the light flickering different shades rapidly is quite fascinating to observe. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just another cigar, but the dramatic light show itself was worthy of mention.

Found this one but I had to capture it off my screen directly because it seems that the original publisher deleted the video and it was only saved in the cache on Facebook. It's super grainy, but is way closer up than anything else I've seen so far:
