2,400 M is the most superficial quake I've ever heard of. If this is related to magma movement it is worrisome indeed. At some point, escape might be unlikely (if everyone tries to get away at once).
I do hope things settle down there, but I also hope some people start leaving soon.
It seems clear by now that their government isn't going to help with guidance or funding.
They live with the backdrop of Vesuvius, how can that not be a constant reminder?

Visually you don't see Vesuvius

when youare located in Pozzuoli / stroll along the beautiful Lungomare Sandro Pertini / sea street in Pozzuoli - because there is an crater ridge/wall (Posillipo area), behind which Napoli/Neaples (and Vesuvio) are located.

Out of sight, out of mind ;-)

It is when you drive to the other side of the Bay and further away - near Capo Miseno - you can see Vesuvio in all its glory. Here from Nov 2011, located on top of Capo Miseno with a telephoto lens, towards Vesuvio. You can also see the crater wall, which when seen from Pozzuoli, obscures Vesuvio. In front of the crater wall is the islet of Nicida, a NATO/US territory inaccessible to the public.

Thanks for the vista lesson. Looking at the map, I am reminded of 2 beautiful red pigments; Ercolano red and Pozzuoli red. Now I know where they are mined. :-)

Off topic, but the company Natural Pigments has an impressive array of colors from all over the world for making paint.
They also make Rublev paints and mediums.
 
Just reading 27/02/2016 part of a session which I find very interesting about the influence of the wave on "el Niño" and I think could relate also to volcanoes and earthquakes.

would mean that like Laura stated, the wave comes also from within earth through the window created and influences movement of crust and so on.

it might have been noted by some but it is something I had missed and find very very interesting.
