A Disturbance in the Force
Im going to put this simple I need to lose a lot of weight or I'm going to die I can't stick to exercise and eat healthy what are some good exercise programs I kinda want to box or something like that.i need help please!

Welcome to the forum, petricabilo.

If your situation is truly a matter of life and death, I suggest you consult with a doctor or a medical authority regarding this matter.

While we do discuss health via nutrition and a breathing program on this forum, which can sometimes lead to weight loss depending upon individual circumstances, it's not a quick and easy fix unless you are dedicated to changing the way you care for your body.

You might also want to read through the Diet and Health and EE-Breathing Program threads as well as the Recommended books by QFS. You also might be interested in the Knowledge and Being video made by Laura. It serves as an introduction to some of the concepts discussed here on the forum.

Don't forget to check out Tips and advice for Newbies and the Forum Guidelines.

In the meantime, it's a good idea to bookmark the Cassiopaea Esoteric Glossary and the Cassiopedia, as they are very useful references that can be used when you encounter concepts/terminology that you may not be familiar with. They should be consulted before posting questions on the forum.

Note that there are some "off limits" areas to the forum that are restricted to all but active forum participants, and we ask you to please keep the noise down. You will also not be able to edit or delete your posts until you reach a minimum of 50 posts. In that respect, it pays to use the "Preview" button prior to posting your message so that you can see how your post will look to others.

Finally, there is so much information on this forum that before beginning a new thread or asking a question on a subject, it is recommended to use either the quick search function at the top of the page or the more advanced search function on the menu function.

Please note that on each section of the forum, you will see a sticky topic at the beginning of the list of topics. This sticky topic called " Important threads - "Name of the section of the forum " contains all the important threads that should be read by all members.

For members interested in delving deeper into the material, check our Comprehensive Guide for the Serious Reader.

Looking forward to your participation.

P.S.: Also, if you're not aware of it, the Signs of the Times news page is an excellent place to get your news.

Hi petricabilo. I would like to second NormaRegula's advice to see a qualified practitioner in real life to help you.

If you don't mind me asking, I am curious as to how you came across this forum. Or what prompt you to ask of our help instead of seeing a doctor?

I would suggest that you spend some time reading "Life Without Bread" thread. You might be surprised at how easy it can be. You CAN lose weight without feeling hungry or deprived but you have to approach it as a lifestyle change, NOT a "diet.". And in many cases, it can happen pretty quickly. When my son changed to the paleo diet, he literally melted before our eyes. But it can't be done without some guidance and the attention of a physician familiar with the principles. In order to find such a doctor, you need to be familiar with the principles yourself. So, read the "Life Without Bread" thread in the Diet and Health section.

petricabilo If you could give us more info and context of what your situation exactly is, it would be a lot easier for us to give advice

I've been reading about and experimenting with weight loss for years. I have been quite successful. Some reading topics for you (about stuff that is still legal):

coconut oil
linseed oil
(avoid other oils/fats)

powdered guarana seed

psyllium husk before meals
(2 spoons in a cup, fill with 50% water 50% natural orange juice, mix well = good tasting orange jelly)

eat slowly

NO processed food
NO sugar
(these two were as addictive for me as smoking tobacco)

don't count calories but learn to enjoy tasty foods that have almost no calories, like mushrooms

don't feel guilty if you eat something bad/too much one day
don't use that guilt to repeat the error the next day

eat whenever you are hungry
but
stop when you are not hungry, don't over-eat

c******s smoking may be enlightening and fun but it makes people hungry

exercise works if you do it hard and a lot of it
it works for burning fat and gaining muscle tissue, not for directly losing weight
in the long run: muscle tissue burns energy just for being alive
you have to choose something that is fun for you
for me it has been rollerblading, tribal african dancing, windsurfing, snowboarding and long hours of **x

Kanguru I think you should read the Life Withou Bread thread before giving people diet advice. Much of your advice is off base based on the latest research.

This is a very good point!
People keep asking me why I'm still doing the Paleo diet (I have lost almost 20 kilos) and I say that I'm not doing it to lose weight but rather to live healthy, so it is a new lifestye.

A good technique is Peak Fitness, I was using an elliptical trainer with that one. Look it up on Dr Mercola's site (you only need to do 40-60 minutes per week!). The main thing that helped me was diet, I don't exercise regularly, maybe a bit of yoga. I got onto the alkaline diet and lost about 20 kilos. I totally avoid gluten and have very little dairy and sugar. I eat fresh fruit and vegetables, snack on nuts, seeds and dried fruits. It took a while to get into but I started to benefit from it very quickly - better energy levels, moods, everything. Processed foods must be avoided - whether grains, sugars, etc. Beware of artificial additives, Genetically Modified organisms and products that are pasteurised. Start getting into fermented foods and avoid medication like hell. If you start feeling sick, up the Vitamin C, get some sunlight, get some krill oil, get some colloidal silver and some Coconut oil. Coconut oil is great - I use it on my hair and skin and in my food. I think that's enough for now :p

Lisyl, I think Mr. Premise's advice would apply to you as well:

I don't think you're following your own guidelines very well. Dried fruits is basically sugar. Too much fruit will also cause a sugar overload in your system. Best to read the Life Without Bread thread as suggested by others.

Mr. Premise, I am reading the life without bread thread but it will take some time, it is over 200 pages long.
My post should not be taken as advice, it is just a list of pointers for further reading/testing/discussion based on the things that I think have been working for me these last 10 years.
(since I found out that I could not believe the mainstream [anything] about [anything])
Can you please be more specific about the things you think are off base?

While it's critically important to do the reading, I'll comment on your recommendations that are off. As well, no one's demanding that you need to be caught up with the reading material immediately and reading such a long thread does take some time, along with the books that are necessary reading as well. However, until that time, it's worth considering that many of the things you think are true about human nutrition and health are wrong, so giving suggestions to others is not to their benefit.

Animal fat should be the basis of one's diet. Coconut oil is fine for some (not everyone) and the ALA in linseed/flax seed oil is an extremely poor source of omega 3s--ALA needs to be converted to EPA/DHA and the conversion process ranges from terribly inefficient to none. You need fish oil or pastured animal fat--and even then, fish oil is probably the best way to go.

powdered guarana seed

loaded with Caffeine, may exhaust the adrenals. Why consume it?

Fiber irritates the colon and can cause dependency. Read The Fiber Menace.

good

You should read about the health benefits of tobacco. Here's an article (I can't find "Let's all light up!" right now)

it'd be better to learn to eat the foods that will genuinely nourish you so that you don't feel the need to eat or avoid calories (though the calorie-in/calorie-out theory is seriously flawed).

kanguru007 said:

that's fine

kanguru007 said:

over simplified and it's best not to eat after 7PM

Might be worth searching the forum about this substance.

The human organism is far more complicated than this. As for sex (which is fine to discuss on the forum in a constructive fashion), I'd recommend reading Cupid's Poisoned Arrow for a different perspective. Considering that humanity's fall was through sex, you may want to reconsider what sounds to be your current stance on it.

Yes, Foxx summarized really well what I would have elaborated. I wrote my post quickly while at work, so I apologize if it was abrupt and didn't explain what was off base. The life without bread thread is really long, so if you want a quicker introduction I recommend the Life Without Bread book first. I found it easy to read and very clear.
