Weird atmosphere ripples

can't give the names off the top of my head, but everything depicted here are normal phenomena and normal cloud forms caused by thermal layers and movement of thermal layers. I once watched a cloud that looked like a carpet being unrolled across the sky. There's enough true spookiness, none here.

I tend to agree with you, and since this is a research forum, it's a great opportunity for you to look into the matter in order to get the names - that way it's a closed subject and everyone learns. It's always helpful to back up statements with data so everyone can learn - plus it exercises those mental muscles a bit when one puts more effort in than they initially think they need to. fwiw.

They call it "Gravity Waves Ripple over Marine Stratocumulus Clouds" :O
