What are you listening to?

I'm listening Depeche Mode "I Am You".

Very good lyrics I think.

I Am You

You have bound my heart with subtle chains
So much pleasure that it feels like pain
So entwined now that we can't shake free
I am you and you are me

No escaping from the mess we're in
So much pleasure that it must be sin
I must live with this reality
I am yours eternally

There's no turning back
We're in this trap
No denying the facts
No, no, no
No excuses to give
I'm the one you're with
We've no alternative
No, no, no

Dark obsession in the name of love
This addiction that we're both part of
Leads us deeper into mystery
Keeps us craving endlessly

Strange compulsions that I can't control
Pure possession of my heart and soul
I must live with this reality

I am you and you are me
I am you and you are me
I am you and you are me
I am you and you are me

There's no turning back
We're in this trap
No denying the facts
No, no, no
No excuses to give
I'm the one you're with
We've no alternative
No, no, no

Interesting version. Do you know the original by Jimmy Cliff? It's a great reggae album, by the way, of the same title and is the soundtrack album of a 1972 movie of the same title starring Jimmy Cliff. I enjoyed Willie's version, thanks.

Hi SeekinTruth, NO, i did not know the roots of the song had its origins to Jimmy Cliff. But i remember hearing a version from the Caribbean, but the artists had escaped me. Thanks for the information.

Other favorites include "I Can See Clearly Now" "Many Rivers to Cross, and "Wonderful World, Beautiful People" All seem to ring the bell's 4 freedom.

Jimmy Cliff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Cliff )"

Cliff was born in Somerton District, St. James, Jamaica.[2] He began writing songs while still at primary school in St. James, listening to a neighbour's sound system. In 1962 his father took him to Kingston to go to Kingston Technical school where he ended up sharing his cousin's one rented room in East Kingston. He sought out many producers while still going to school, trying to get his songs recorded without success. He also entered talent contests. "One night I was walking past a record store and restaurant as they were closing, pushed myself in and convinced one of them, Leslie Kong, to go into the recording business, starting with me," he writes in his own website biography.[1] After two singles that failed to make much impression, his career took off when his "Hurricane Hattie" became a hit, while he was aged 14.

Yeah, Jimmy Cliff had some really great tunes. On the soundtrack album "The Harder They Come," which is my favorite, he wrote maybe half the songs. There are a bunch of songs he sings by other reggae artists of the time.

He was the biggest star on the Island Records label when he left because he was signed by CBS/Columbia Records. Bob Marley and the Wailers were the replacement for Island Records. And they shortly became a worldwide sensation, while Jimmy Cliff's star slowly faded.

Besides the great music of Jamaican/Rastafarian "classic" reggae, I've always enjoyed a lot of the lyrics with the message of justice and freedom -- a great combination, especially when you're feeling down because of the great injustices and attacks on freedom in the world. Over the years, this genre of music, among others, has really picked up my spirits during "dark" times.

It is nice song in my opinion and I like it. I heard also original version and for me Willie Nelsons performance is better. Of course it is only my subjective opinion :)

Really good soundtracks to listen. Thank you for sharing. My favorite from your list is from "28 weeks later" move.

One of my favourite new wave songs. Modern English "Melt With You"

Moving forwards using all my breath
Making love to you was never second best
I saw the world crashing all around your face
Never really knowing it was always mesh and lace

I'll stop the world and melt with you
You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time
There's nothing you and I won't do
I'll stop the world and melt with you

(You should know better)
Dream of better lives the kind which never hates
(You should see why)
Trapped in a state of imaginary grace
(You should know better)
I made a pilgrimage to save this human's race
(You should see why)
Never comprehending the race had long gone bye

(I'll stop the world) I'll stop the world and melt with you
(I'll stop the world) You've seen the difference and it's getting better all
the time
(I'll stop the world) There's nothing you and I won't do
(I'll stop the world) I'll stop the world and melt with you

The future's open wide

**The future's open wide

(I'll stop the world) I'll stop the world and melt with you
(I'll stop the world) I've seen some changes but it's getting better all the
time
(I'll stop the world) There's nothing you and I won't do
(I'll stop the world) I'll stop the world and melt with you

The future's open wide

hmmm hmmm hmmm
hmmm hmmm hmmm hmmm
hmmm hmmm hmmm
hmmm hmmm hmmm hmmm

I'll stop the world and melt with you (I'll stop the world)
You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time (I'll stop the
world)
There's nothing you and I won't do (I'll stop the world)
I'll stop the world and melt with you (I'll stop the world)

I'll stop the world and melt with you (I'll stop the world)
I'll stop the world and melt with you (I'll stop the world)

I'll stop the world and melt with you (I'll stop the world)
I'll stop the world and melt with you (I'll stop the world)

Adele - Someone Like You

I heard
That you're settled down
That you
Found a girl
And you're
Married now

I heard
That your dreams came true
I guess she gave you things
I didn't give to you

Old friend, why are you so shy?
It ain't like you to hold back or hide from the lie.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited,
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it,
I had hoped you'd see my face,
And that you'd be reminded that for me it isn't over,

Never mind, I'll find someone like you,
I wish nothing but the best for you, too,
Don't forget me, I beg,
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love,
But sometimes it hurts instead,"
Sometimes it lasts in love,
But sometimes it hurts instead, yeah,

You know how the time flies,
Only yesterday was the time of our lives,
We were born and raised in a summer haze,
Bound by the surprise of our glory days,

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited,
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it,
I had hoped you'd see my face,
And that you'd be reminded that for me it isn't over,

Never mind, I'll find someone like you,
I wish nothing but the best for you, too,
Don't forget me, I beg,
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love,
But sometimes it hurts instead,"

Nothing compares,
No worries or cares,
Regrets and mistakes, they're memories made,
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?

Nevermind, I'll find someone like you,
I wish nothing but the best for you,
Don't forget me, I beg,
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love,
But sometimes it hurts instead,"

Nevermind, I'll find someone like you,
I wish nothing but the best for you, too,
Don't forget me, I beg,
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love,
But sometimes it hurts instead,"
Sometimes it lasts in love,
But sometimes it hurts instead.
