What are you listening to?

Eric Clapton y Luciano Pavarotti - Holy Mother ( Santa Madre)

Lyrics:

Holy mother, where are you?
Tonight I feel broken in two
I've seen the stars fall from the sky
Holy mother, can't keep from crying

Oh I need your help this time
Get me through this lonely night
Tell me please which way to turn
To find myself again

Holy Mother, hear my prayer
Somehow I know you're still there
Send me please some peace of mind
Take away this pain

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait any longer
I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait for you

Holy Mother, hear my cry
I've cursed your name a thousand times
I've felt the anger running through my soul
All I need is a hand to hold

Oh I feel the end has come
No longer my legs will run
You know I would rather be
In your arms tonight

When my hands no longer play
My voice is still, I fade away
Holy Mother, then I'll be
Lying in, safe within your arms

This is lovely truth seeker! Yesterday I was listening to some opera artist I came across, Paul Potts, worth listening :D His voice really transmits you a lot, it gave me the chills.

RIP Leonard

"Everybody Knows"

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows

Thanks zak,

I was kind of hooked in the first 3 measures. I never even heard of The Three Degrees before but I like that almost MoTown sound (it's probably more Philly sound). I do remember their song When Will I See You Again (I just noticed).
I was in a different stage of my life in the early 70s so that's probably why I didn't notice this group. It's really an upbeat song and probably "wishful thinking" hoping "We need everyone to succeed" but I think it's a worthy aim even if it seems a bit unrealistic. And, there were and are plenty of decisions to make this year and every year we have if we keep an "open" mind.

The Three Degrees - Year of decision
Yes this is the year
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year
To open up your mind
If you've been holding back kind of slack, yeah
Now's the time to get the things you need
There ain't no reason why you should be shy
People have died to set you free
Oh we need every one to succeed
Everybody to succeed, we need everybody
We're just like soul isn't enough
Hey come on and join us please
Come on, come on and join us please
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
If you're strong out on a Jones, yeah
You better make sure that you leave the bad stuff alone
Whatever you wanna do think it over good
'Cause the choice is up to you
Oh we need every one to succeed
Everybody to succeed, we need everybody
We're just like soul isn't enough
Hey come on and join us please
Come on, come on and join us please
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
Open up, open up your mind
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
Open up, open up your mind

You're right about Philly sound, The song "When will i see you Again" was one of their international hit.
Yes it's a optimistic song, that need to be taken not in the first degree, but... three :)

Yes it's a worthy aim everyone for one and one for every one... AND
The question is: How well do you play, and can you play true if the others don't?
How does one play well in an orchestra? First of all, one must be able to read the notes. In other words, one must study and gain knowledge of the score. Once the piece of music is understood one has a choice, one can either choose to play or find a different orchestra with a different score. This is an emotional choice, either a tune appeals or it does not. If one chooses to play the score, then the work has begun. Secondly, one must have an instrument that is working and is tuned. Here the instrument represents the self, and idea of functioning and being in tune is the alchemistic transformation and the point of 4th way Work. Thirdly, one must be a useful member of the orchestra by playing harmoniously

Is this the age of the thunder and rage?
Can you feel the ground move round your feet?
If you take one step closer it will lead to another.
The crossroads above is where we meet.
I shout out for shelter. I need you for something.
The whole world's out they're all on the street.
Control yourself. "Love is all you need."
Control yourself in your eyes.
Sanctify Yourself. Sanctify.
Be a part of me. Sanctify.
Sanctify Yourself. Sanctify.
Sanctify Yourself.
Set yourself free.

Have been woke up to this song ... it some how happen to be my first reading this morning so decided to share with You, here at this beautiful place where I feel understood ... :flowers:

VICTORY DANCE
Should I close my eyes and prophesize
Hoping maybe some day come
Should I wet the ground with my own tears
Crying over what's been done
Should I lift the dirt and plant the seed
Even though I'll never grow
Should I wet the ground with the sweat from my brow
And believe in my good work
My good work
My good work
My good work
Hey there, I'm flying up above
Looking down on the tired earth
And I can see, I can see potential
Speaking through you, speaking to you
From all of heaven's possibilities
Power, hey do you know how it works
Hey do you know that the meek,
They shall inherit the earth
You should work, you should work
For the self and family
Should I hit the water or stay on dry land
Even though I've never swam
Take machete into the brush
Though at first there is no path
Taste the war paint on my tongue
As it's dripping with my sweat
Place my gaze in the future's path
Seeing things that ain't come yet
Hope to watch the victory dance
After whole day's work is done
Hope to watch the victory dance
In the evening's setting sun
Hope to watch the victory dance
Over many lives to come
Hope to watch the victory dance
In the evening's setting sun
Setting sun
Setting sun
Setting sun
Hope to dance the victory dance
After whole day's work is done
Hope to dance the victory dance
In the evening's setting sun
Hope to dance the victory dance
Over many lives to come
Hope to dance the victory dance
In the evening's setting sun

<The Winery Dogs - We Are One video>

Shijing, I liked the words and the music kind of grows on me. Very fast and driving but kind of works with the words which describe the struggle I think.

Thanks

The Winery Dogs - We Are One said:
Deep in this fight to survive
Always hurting
Alone in the dark with no light
Always searching
Keep us lost in our devices
Blinded, broken and deceived
Time has come to be the righteous
Stand up and fight the power
There's no way they can stop us now
We're the stars tonight and we are one
There's nobody that can bring us down
We're united and they don't want us to be
Come to this day
Where our lives can't be broken
Now here we are
With our future wide open
Time has come for us to rise
From the depths of their disease
There's no hope if we divide
Stand up and fight the power
There's no way they can stop us now
We're the stars tonight and we are one
There's nobody that can bring us down
We're united and they don't want us to be
We are one and won't be shaken
It's our prophecy
And the light is on for the taking
Stand up and fight the power
There's no way they can stop us now
We're the stars tonight and we are one
There's nobody that can bring us down
We're united and they don't want us to be
They wanna keep you on the ground
With a foot on your neck
Make you feel like you're defeated
