What are you listening to?

I was thinking of a soundtrack to the C's Session 24 June 2022:

Can't think of a better love song and also with some lyrics on time: Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody

On speculation that "level playing field" refers to the 4D transition: Third Eye Blind - Graduate

Nothing lasts forever: - Guns N' Roses - November Rain

And a nice one on time: Jim Croce - Time in a bottle

Werbistich (WhoareI)

Here are the lyrics in english (translatet with deepL and slight modifications by me):

So, are we all here? Good!
Then let's grab each other by our own noses.
On the count of three

Good morning, mankind, he calls himself the captain.
He's come to rap riddles to you
Riddle one: who are you? Have you guessed yet?
Raise your hand if you know the answer

"Here, here, me, me!"
Wrong, my friend!
It seems you missed the best subject
Namely: self-study or ithyology!
Subject of your own private academy

So catch up, take off your clothes, straighten your back, open your head...
Get out your notebook, I'll dictate the Brockhaus to you.
Are you ready? # So let's get started, take off your skirt #
Cause if you bust your ass, I'll pull your stick out of it.

Cause it's 1-2, ding-dong, super-duper question-answering
He asks you laser questions, he's got a suit with an "Q" on it
And a little backpack full of questions, questions, questions
Questions, questions, questions, questions, questions, questions, questions
And he'll ask you till your bubble bursts
His name is existence - he's probably having fun
For without fun even asking questions is no fun
It has to be fun for him, otherwise it's no fun!

So this song makes no sense at all!
No fun without fun - where's the logic in that?
So if you come with questions and want an answer
Then please stay serious while you ask!

So away from the fun and back to the point
Who am I? What are you? Is there master, is there dog
Is the search for the reason unhealthy for the brain?
Or why do so many here so self-evidently:

There are no riddles, go back to your job
You are what you do, so don't act like you are.
There's something left to find out about us
How presumptuous and how childish, go out and live!
The only realisation of man is called career!

And so we pull ourselves out of the puzzle
We don't let ourselves be our own boss
We let ourselves be dominated by other people's gimmicks
Like studies, job, children, house, cinema and TV quiz...

...what has to be, has to be, because it is what it is!

Well then
Walk around, shop, watch TV, drink wine
Pull the covers over your head and start shouting softly
- The captain says have a nice trip
At his next picnic he'll take you hostage
And then he'll get you fit and empty your glass
And then he'll pump it full of spring water fun
So pure and so clear and so fresh and so fine
The crème de la crème of frequency he pours:

What!? Oh how gross! Oh my God, what is that!?
A weird freak tells me something about fun!
So I investigate thoroughly: does his sleeve have an ace?
Or is the metaphorical barrel
Which you open here, like a party without a guest?
As pointless and flat as a house without a roof
Don't tell me about existence - don't tell me about fun!
And not that you'll fill my glass up again!
Don't give yourself the power of attorney just like that
To tell people so unabashedly and bluntly:

Ball flat - Open your hearts, I want to torture you with love

He brings us love, quick, shoot him!!!

Now we'll dance our troubles away together
And then we'll run into the street and we'll shout our questions
We'll shout our questions into the garden
That the neighbours have no sense of humour
And never, never give up, even if we're scarred for life
I'll never complain, even if I'm up to my neck in shit
I'd still carry every one of you freaks on my two unclothed, modest and far too small, motley child's shoulders!!!
And I'll plague you with thousands and thousands of unsolved existential questions until I die.

Ding, Ding, Ding - Round 3 - may the better question win...

For example
Why at all? And why? And why?
Why all this, am I warm, are you cold?
If I'm stupid, you're clever, if I'm sick, I'm well
Do we know too much, or don't we know enough?

I only know one thing, and I know you know it too:
Education is memory, which mostly revolves around itself!
Intelligence has nothing to do with memory
Was the 1930 called hen or chicken?
Or emperor or king? Or peasant or maid?
Or country, republic, monarchy or state?
I really don't want to say anything against factual knowledge
But we need to expand and venture into other areas

Because 90 per cent of school employment
Is rote learning without inner affirmation
Of the things we need like courage, intuition
Anxiety management and communication
Breathing techniques and muscle relaxation
Why don't we have this as a subject, these things would be worthwhile!

And if you start telling me now
With this stuff you would lack realism
Then I can't help but laugh, unfortunately
For reality is not static, reality is created!

By you and by me and by us and by everyone
Let's throw away the know-it-all and do ourselves a favour
For once in this life of ours
To let go and affirm the shit positively

And let's not always blame others
Stop cursing ourselves and practice patience
Let's get over all the shit with failure and with blame
Feel: we are overfilled with values!

Let's empty our heads and start again from scratch
Throw our old lives off our shoulders
Let's accept what we are and reinvent ourselves
Let's unite with everything, separate the wheat from the chaff
Become everyone's disciple, our own master
Let's relax completely and awaken our spirits...

And once they're awake, welcome to the club
Once we've awakened them we'll never get enough
# So let's loosen up cos we know we've got time #
Cause together with the dudes, it's not far to go

And then we ask each other questions until we puke
And stare newborn out of baby eyes
We do this until it has an effect
Until our spasm is released and our sick body heals
And our minds freed from suffering, spread unabashedly around the room
And give out freshly brewed coffee and a free biscuit

Oh, thank you! - Sugar, milk? - Uh, both! - No problem

And then we tenderly stroke each other's brains and
Offer all our devils a friendly face at last and
And we'll let them dissolve in a ball of light
We'll create it together, so don't be afraid

And: Finger in the wound! Tail on the table!
Heart on the tongue, the cards are shuffled
We could do another hundred years of pride and honour:
You started it, no you, let's start a war!

We can't go on like this, every child knows that.
It's time for harmony, my friend, or we'll die blind!
So celebrate this shit - as weird as it sounds
# And dance to every song that swings #
And give a round of applause for every thing that lives
That seems to stand motionless and inanimate in corners
For everything you see is permeated with life
It's the same life that planets float through
It's the same life in the uncles as in the aunts
It's the same life in a street hydrant
It's the same life vibrating, in the water as in the bread
And it's the same life that lives in joy as in adversity
The same life rages in white and in red
And in ice and in excrement and in duty and in prohibition
And it is the same life, in life as in death

In the zero as in the one, as in the shadow and in the light
Incidentally, the solution to the riddle is....
I used to listen to this Kate Bush album a lot when I was a small child.. now been getting back into her the last few days (of course, since I watched that tv show Stranger Things which had one of her songs in).. and hey there's a song sort of about The Work. I love it!

Jennifer Rush - The Power Of Love (Official Video) (VOD)
I listened to this in my car a few days before and I told me i would post it here, but forgot ... but today for an unknown reason i thought again at it. Saman posted it in 2020, but this song is worth "un rappel", which is french and i even searched how it is translated to english, and found : "to make an encore", from the french "encore" which means again. I learnt something, youpie :)

Well, this song desserves an encore :-)

“Where do you come from?” – You’re asking me,
For my face is white,
And my hair blond, fair and bright
Even my eyes are blue as the deep sea.

“Where are your origins?” – Again, you’re asking me, -
“Where have you been uprooted from,
Some northern land, perhaps,
Even from the faraway Russia maybe?”

Hey! What’s so strange about my white face?
Why, of course, my White Land has left its trace!
And what’s so strange about those eyes of mine that glitter,
Deep and blue as the White Sea,
And my hair is by the Sun caressed?

My torso, my whole body is white, too
Nothing to wonder - on White Land it grew,
From White River I drank,
In the White Sea I bathed,
And a white cross on my chest wore.

Through White Land, White River flows,
on White Mountain its spring is,
Into the White Sea it empties;
From the White Mountain all through to the White Sea,
a carved white cross on each stone there is.

When some of my ancestor grandmothers blessed had been
On an arduous move she had not set out
Instead, she’d stayed behind beside her hearth,
And to my great-great grandmother she had given birth.
Her kith and kin have lasted ever,
So, why my skin is white, you must never wonder
For even my grand-daughters’ looks will strike you as a thunder.

My ancestor relatives had set out north
And in lands new and unknown settled,
Literacy is what along they had taken,
Slavs is what they had been called.
All around literacy they had spread
And new powerful empires founded.
Yet, to White Land on pilgrimage
They have always returned,
from their motherland blessings to take.

Say hello and give my greetings to those white relatives of mine
In those far away conquered lands,
And to those who behind the Carpathians had settled.
Give them my love and tell them
About our ancient Macedonian genes
From the White Land derived,
Tell them never to forget
Where they come from and their origin is –

We are the people of the Heavenly Father, our Lord,
Children of the Great Heavenly Mother,
With the holy spirit of Makedon
From the land of

The Killers - All These Things That I've Done

When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I want to stand up, I want to let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't
I want to shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand

Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no

Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
You know you got to help me out

And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be

Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down

I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier

Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down

Over and again, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
All these things that I've done
(Time, truth, hearts)
If you can hold on
If you can hold on
