The song is called "Homing To The Island" by "Shingetsu," a Japanese progressive rock band featuring guitarist Haruhiko Tsuda, who gave me my initiation.
僕にイニシエーションを授けてくれたギタリストの津田治彦さんが在籍する日本のプログレッシブ・ロック・バンド「新月」の「島へ帰ろう」という曲です。

Composer's comment: The most significant feature of this piece is that it has an "infinite modulation chorus”. It is not easy to understand at a glance, but the melody is sung in C, and it is resolved in D, which is two degrees higher than C. In other words, as Kitayama continues to sing in a good mood, the notes gradually become higher and higher, and his throat becomes strained, until finally he has no choice but to give up singing.
作曲者のコメント：この楽曲のもっとも大きな特徴は「無限転調サビ」を持っていることです。ぱっと聞いただけでは分かりませんがＣで歌い 始めたメロディーが二度上のＤで解決する仕組みになっている のです。つまり北山がいい気になって歌い続けているとだんだ ん音が高くなり、喉が苦しくなって、ついには歌うことを断念せざるを得なくなるのです。
