I loved this. I grew up in South Texas. So...I am reminded of the Band Santana. And it's relation to them in 60's. And what happened in the 60's the Beatles revolution the greatest phenomenon to strike the western world...And to quote McCartney, all they did was sing stupid love Songs. Thought about the rising of the Pleiades and Stonehenge and it reminded of the magnificent instrumentals of Santanna in the early days ( also strange) when the Beatles were just getting started...Strange. Looking through the audience, a tall man in dark glasses who does not jive to the music, another with with what looked like some form of bandada, stunned and imobile. Also strange
This from the 1960's the instrumentals are out of this world with a multi orchestra collaboration.
Soul Sacrifice...The music, listening to this is a journey. Makes me wonder did our ancestors also experience such dynamic music at the time strangley the music does not give my mind a jolt,to another brain wave.
Normally I like country music when it's done well, and this band does it almost "too well". A quick search on Apple Music shows that this band - Whiskey and Lead - have released no less than 14 full length albums (each with 10-20 songs) during the two months of May and June 2025.Got lost in the lyrics
Or any videos for that matter. It seems it will become very easy to make any person say and do things that they haven't said and done very realistic to where no one will know for sure.It may not be long before it will be impossible to distinguish between songs created by humans and songs made by machines.
Wow, I think you are right ! 100% AI.Normally I like country music when it's done well, and this band does it almost "too well". If I'm not mistaken, or there is some other explanation, it sounds like the entire project could be the work of some kind of AI.
Here is their Youtube playlist - 16 albums listed on Youtube here...
Crazy how good AI is getting at emulating real music these days. It may not be long before it will be impossible to distinguish between songs created by humans and songs made by machines.
I wondered about that question too, when I once played around with a free online AI music app. Though some of the generated songs superficially sounded quite good, there was something subtly creepy coming along with. I could not prompt it to do otherwise (limited options). Then I think of Laura, how she handles GROK and is able to write a whole book with AI, with amazingly awareness raising content. Maybe it´s a question of how skillfully AI is prompted?- are we allowed to like music made by AI?![]()
Wow, I think you are right ! 100% AI.
It's interesting you say "too well".. I'm not musically trained so I wouldn't know but do you mean it's actually music capable of competing against real musicians?
It's all so very interesting - i know what you mean by something "subtly creepy".I wondered about that question too, when I once played around with a free online AI music app. Though some of the generated songs superficially sounded quite good, there was something subtly creepy coming along with. I could not prompt it to do otherwise (limited options). Then I think of Laura, how she handles GROK and is able to write a whole book with AI, with amazingly awareness raising content. This is interesting - so it's the presence of struggle and error whilst striving for perfection what distinguishes man from machine.Well, in a way, yes. It is played, arranged and produced in such a perfect way that it's almost "too good to be true". From the choice of instrumentation (fiddle, bass, pedal steel), to the low gravelly timbre of the male singer's voice, to the choice of lyrical content (devils, death and dust), - hits every country music cliche to a tee. Even the band's name "Whiskey and Lead" capitalizes on some of most common country music themes - alcohol and guns.
What is missing most to my ears is the human factor, the little imperfections, the rawness, the feeling of something created with care and attention. For lack of a better word - it reminds me of music without 'soul'. So, while being technically perfect, and hitting all the right notes and phrases, in the end it still sounds like a product made by a machine.
