I recently watched through the 2015 live action Death Note Series on Amazon Prime and thought the music was rather good. I particularly like the soundtrack that plays at 6:03.
BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Jiří Bělohlávek 2012 - Land of hope and glory
The Lyrics below because the video seems to lack subtitles
Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the Free,
How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee?
Wider still, and wider, shall thy bounds be set;
God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet!
God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet!
I have been continuing to listen to Pomp and Circumstance, Land of Hope and Glory since my previous post. Realising there are a lot of variations to this piece and versions featuring more lyrics. I seem to get some strong emotional reactions listening or singing along to it. I know it has been associated with patriotism in Britain and tied to British Imperialism, but I think the message at the heart of the lyrics is speaking to something greater than any nation or worldly throne and empire.
I have a bit more to say on this but think It would be better to elaborate on them in their own thread in the future.
For now, this version is my personal favourite “Land of Hope and Glory” song at least to listen to with lyrics from the non-coronation version from 1902.
