What are you listening to?

He is not at all "my kind of guy".

Look deeper, if you have time. Notice I said he's getting good replays from rather intelligent people on YT.

By hook, or by crook, we will... Goes both ways.

Pay attention.

When you say "By hook, or by crook" and state it goes both ways, is that in regards to "by any means necessary" has stated in wiki below?

If "suggesting that any means possible should be taken to accomplish a goal", and then you state it goes both ways, are you really sure about this?

Well assuming we are still talking about the same context that you asked others for a perspective about, that is this guy and his choice of presentation to the masses, do you think that just because some seemingly intelligent folks on YT have endorsed him--and I do not know who these intelligent folks you are referring to are, and frankly, it doesn't really matter cause it is clear, to me anyways, what sort of choices they may have made to navigate their emotions with their intelligence to endorse him--that this guys messages through his type of music and lyrics will somehow help wake the masses that identify with his very dark and punkish image? Yes indeed, by his hook, or by his crook., the guy appears to be the poster-boy for the very intelligent and "enlightened":

Again I am not attacking you personally. Just paying attention to what you said and asked for, that is a perspective on this dude. You can be the judge as to whether I am wrong or correct. Anyways, I think we have both taken enough space on this thread for music. If you want to discuss this guy further, then please open another thread; however, I for one rather move on.

Lyrics for the above. Not verified for fidelity.

Obviously he is a rapper and that appeals to a certain group with certain aesthetic preferences that may make others cringe, but if his words speak the truth to an extent and meet people where they're at to get them to question things more so much the better for them. I like the Tom Macdonald song "Exposure," which also contains meaningful lyrics criticizing the rap industry and online social media "influencers" and self-censorship.

Yeah, let me break it down for every single doubter
You're afraid of what I'm doing, you're a coward
All your favourite rappers doing downers and you make 'em feel empowered
Till they're fertilizing soil, pushing flowers, yeah
What do Lil' Wayne, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz all have in common?
They make a living off gangster rap, but they all went to college
It's all just marketing strategy so you empty your wallet
Endorsing Vodka to make a buck and make you alcoholics
They make you stupid with Xanax, they make you broke with designers
They use the music to confuse the youth and influence minors
Isn't it funny how these rappers went from fighting the power
To buy a gun and sell some drugs in just a matter of hours?
They'll turn the students to felons that just get fed to the system
'Cause there are people making fortunes off of privatized prisons
They objectify women till they are all that you crave
So you don't realize there's more to life than just getting laid

[Chorus 1]
You think you're happy, but you're really just so caught in the game
That you don't realize you're wasting all your money to play
They give you rappers with rainbow hair who wear clothes like your girlfriend
To emasculate the men that emulate all the urban trends
Got you wearing pretty dresses and heels
And popping pills like you really know how depression can feel
Y'all some posers, dying for acceptance and exposure
Tryna be the rappers on the posters

[Verse 2]
All I hear is, "New chain, big house, fast cars," so boring
And all of that is lies man, it's so corny
Death threats coming every other day for me
But I don't believe a word, that shit is ghost stories
Hi, my name is Tom MacDonald, welcome to the show
If you are easily offended, then you probably should go
My resolution to losers who my new music has triggered
And just a million views on YouTube is two big middle fingers
I don't apologize or compromise, I quantify the figures
'Cause I'm optimized for making a killing and getting bigger
Had the fire all along, I needed fuel and a flicker
To light the fuse to the mixture of the rumours and liquor
They got nothing else to do but try to cut me with scissors
But what's a blade to a building made out of iron and pillars
Go 'head and cry me a river 'cause I've been dying to go swimming
And I'm designed to find it funny when they whine 'cause I'm winning

[Chorus 2]
I just tell the truth, it's up to you to love or dismiss it
I'm just pointing out what I feel that the game has been missing
And every time I open my mouth up, you get offended
You say that talk is cheap, but then you act like it's expensive
You can't afford to speak your mind, afraid you'll get rejected
By some strangers on the internet who's lives are all pathetic
I was surrounded by people who just pretend to be down
And then I blew up off of record, no one's friends with me now

[Verse 3]
I've realized that my potentials so intensely profound
That there was bound to be some haters getting caught in the crowd
I won't apologize for anything I said or I'll say
If you're allergic to opinions, you should just walk away
Don't give a shit about your arguments and -flick- your complaints
I'd love to have you in my audience, just know it isn't safe
White people are the biggest -flicking-g assholes on the planet
But even still I swear I'm sick to death of hearing it
You're not a model, you're a waitress, and the man taking your picture
Is a pervert with a camera, and no photography experience
You cry about gorillas getting shot inside a zoo
And then take photos on your phone when someone's dying next to you
Y'all only care about each other if it means you'll get some views
And you can say that I'm a dick, but what I say is just the truth
There's a disconnect between the things you feel and what's said
'Cause you're afraid of what they'll think, so you don't say what you meant

[Chorus 3]
If being true to myself means that I'll lose their respect
Then I'll stand my ground like both my feet are stuck in cement
I was raised to keep my feelings, thoughts, and words all consistent
If your censoring your heart, then what's the reason for living
I don't need their approval to validate my position
And I don't need to be accepted, never asked for permission
They attacked me from behind and tried to silence the vision
Tried to kill me with fire and from the ashes I've risen
My motivation won't expire, I don't get tired I get driven
If they don't like it, then they're not required to comment and listen
They just hide behind their keyboards, tryna find the ambition
To go make something of their life while they die for attention

Hmm, well I checked it out cause I actually like some types of rap music, like some KOS, Tobymac, LL Cool J, etc., and a few tracks from Jasirix, and a few of Tupac's (non-gangster themed) tracks like Dear Mama, etc.

So anyways, not too bad I guess. He appears more human in appearance in the above video than the previous video Loungcloud shared that yeah, repulsed me.

This one is also OK too, I guess.

Unconditional Love · 2Pac

(What y'all want?)
Unconditional love (no doubt)
Talking bout the stuff that don't wear off
It don't fade
It'll last for all these crazy days
These crazy nights
Whether you wrong or you right
I'm a still love you
Still feel you
Still there for you
No matter what (hehe)
You will always be in my heart
With unconditional love

Come listen to my truest thoughts, my truest feelings
All my peers doing years beyond drug dealing
How many caskets can we witness
Before we see it's hard to live this life without God, so we must ask forgiveness
Ask mama why I got this urge to die
Witness the tears falling free from my eyes, before she could reply
Though we were born without a silver spoon
My broken down TV, show cartoons in my living room (hey)
One day I hope to make it, a player in this game
Mama don't cry, long as we try, maybe things change
Perhaps it's just a fantasy
A life where we don't need no welfare and share with our whole family
Maybe it's me that caused it, the fighting and the hurtin'
In my room crying cause I didn't want to be a burden
Watch mama open up her arms to hug me
And I ain't worried bout a damn thang, with unconditional love

In this game the lesson's in your eyes to see
Though things change, the future's still inside of me
We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark
So you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love

In this game the lesson's in your eyes to see
Though things change, the future's still inside of me
We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark
So you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love

Just got the message you've been calling all week
Been out here hustling on these streets, ain't had a chance to speak
But you know, with you and me it's on G
We could never be enemies
Cause you been such a good friend to me
Where would I be without my dogs
No wonder why when times get hard
Cause it ain't easy being who we are
Driven by my ambitions, desire higher positions
So I proceed to make Gs, eternally in my mission
Is to be more than just a rap musician
The elevation of today's generation, if I could make 'em listen
Prison ain't what we need, no longer stuck in greed
Time to plan, strategize, my family's gotta eat
When we make something out of nothing
No pleasure in the suffering, neighborhood would be good
If they could cut out all the busting
The liquor and the weed the cussing
Sending love out to my block
The struggle never stops (unconditional love)

In this game the lesson's in your eyes to see
Though things change, the future's still inside of me
We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark
So you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love

In this game the lesson's in your eyes to see
Though things change, the future's still inside of me
We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark
So you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love

I'll probably never understand ya ways
With everyday I swear I hear ya
Trying to change your ways while getting paid at the same time
Just had a baby with the same eyes
Something inside, please let me die these are strange times
How come I never made it
Maybe it's the way I played it in my heart
I knew one day I gotta be a star
My hopes and all my wishes
So many vivid pictures, and all the currency
I'll never even get to see
This fast life soon shatters
Cause after all the lights and screams
Nothing but my dreams matter
Hoping for better days
Maybe a peaceful night, baby don't cry
Cause everything gonna be alright
Just lay your head on my shoulder
Don't worry bout a thing, baby
Girl I'm a soldier (huh)
Never treated me bad, no matter who I was
You still came with that, unconditional love

[Repeat to fade:]
In this game the lesson's in your eyes to see
Though things change, the future's still inside of me
We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark
So you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love

Winter Sonata - From The Beginning Until Now

you will never come back to see me
and you can't, even if you try
don’t attempt to comfort me, please just let me cry

I will never ever want to see you
I really want to forget
everything about you that I held close to me
(CHORUS)
there are many moments when I want to laugh
you always end up hurting me to make me cry
you never let me do a thing I want to do
not even when I want to try
there are moments in my life when you are missed
and everytime I end up breaking down like this
I tried forgetting everything of you but then
I will remember all again

I will never ever want to see you
I really want to forget
everything about you that I held close to me

there are many moments when I want to laugh
you always end up hurting me to make me cry
you never let me do a thing I want to do
not even when I want to try
there are moments in my life when you are missed
and everytime I end up breaking down like this
I tried forgetting everything of you but then
I will remember all again
(BRIDGE)
it's not an easy thing, to be in love with anyone
I didn't realize it's very hard to do

there are many moments when I want to laugh
you always end up hurting me to make me cry
you never let me do a thing I want to do
not even when I want to try
there are moments in my life when you are missed
and everytime I end up breaking down like this
I tried forgetting everything of you but then
I will remember all again

Good questions. When I first saw this video recommended for a watch (from a forum of people that are well balanced on World affairs), I was appalled at the visuals. I took a breath, and watched again, and actually heard what he was saying the second time around. And that was very interesting. I'm really NOT into the rap scene, it's been such garbage for so long (and not my type of "music" at all). But the video spoke some hard truths, and I was surprised to hear it coming from that genre. So I looked deeper, saw a whole lot of "reaction videos" from some good old "homies" that absolutely LOVED it, and said more of this in rap is needed, meaning real world non-BS, and clear thinking. I was surprised at even those reactions, and very encouraged by these "vid reactions" streamers, because, love it or not, they have lots of followers.

I haven't looked too much into this artist, but he seems to have put himself through some hard times, and has come out sober and going for broke. Not sure if it's all just gimmick, but if he's for real, then you might understand what I meant "by hook or by crook". Some people who are attracted to, or identify, with most rap music being from hard to live places due to circumstances, might see something they need. He's not the only rapper with good messages, I'm sure. But that he's a "whitey" on the rap scene certainly must bring him some attention for being an intruder into the genre, and with the above mentioned intelligent "homies" giving him props, it's not hurting.

Obviously he is a rapper and that appeals to a certain group with certain aesthetic preferences that may make others cringe, but if his words speak the truth to an extent and meet people where they're at to get them to question things more so much the better for them.

You expressed my feelings about why I shared this very well. Thank you.

I like very much the theme of this Canadian serie from the 70's that is very funny and sympathetic with good actors that were payasons and crazy. The theme is like a bird dance and is plain of joy and laugh. A vitamine these days that we need!

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything; you may have an abundance for every good deed;

Something I caught in a fictional showing recently said something quite interesting. I'm paraphrasing.

"God doesn't make you. You make God; with your will, your feelings, your curiosity, your drive to know."

Symbiotic view of the Universe.

Thanks for that c.a.
