After listening to some of the health and wellness radio shows, it seems a bit of mirth and laughing are very helpful for us.

I haven't really found too many films or shows that have really made me laugh in a while, so please share your favorites :D

The first film that comes to mind for me is Happy Gilmore, and there is a TV show called Powerless, which is funny in parts.

Powerless

Happy Gilmore

H2G2 is one movie that comes to my mind.

Inglourious basterds by Quentin Tarqntino, if you can handle the "blood scenes".

Airplane.

The french movie "Le diner de con", there is an american remake, but I don't remember the title. It's basically one joke repeted a 100 times, that works for me.

I had a good laugh with some plays by French author Feydau, I don't know if there are english adaptations.

All Jacques Tati's movies.

Anger managment.

The Monthy Python's movie.

A groundhog day.

Most of Charlie Chaplin's movies.

Fargo, the movie and the series.

O Brother,Where Art Thou?

The other guys

Dumb & dumber

The Marx brother's movies, especially Duck soup.

There's Something About Mary.

As Good As It Gets.

The Cable Guy.

Thanks for starting this thread 987baz, you are right, we need to laugh because laugh is necessary for our health.

I love Luis de Funes, he is our favorite comedian in my family. One of his best movies is Oscar. La grande vadrouille is excellent also.

Buster Keaton

Charly Chaplin as in this one:

it's a mad mad mad mad world

To be or not to be by Ernst Lubitsch, a classical movie, very very funny but I love Jack Benny

the horn blows at midnight

There is much more but it is too early in the morning to remember them. I will post them when I remerber good movies that made me laugh.

Amacord by Fellini.

When you feel depressed or without energy Fellini is there, to make you laugh, from your soul. I think that the movies of Fellini are very gentle for the soul and many scenes are really comic in his movies.

This scene is one of my favorite and really you don't need to understand Italian to smile and even laugh. (All the movie is really beautiful.)

Idiocracy and Office Space

Gentleman Prefer Blondes with Marylin Monroe.

O Brother Where Art Thou? I didn't 'get' George Clooney's appeal until that film. I've seen it three times now and just love it - the story, the music, the characters, everything.

Black Adder, especially Black Adder III.
Monty Python of course, since I grew up watching them, especially The Life of Brian and the Holy Grail.

Harry Enfield and Chums, a BBC sketch comedy series that aired in the 90s.

I also like my share of 'dumb' comedies like Dumb & Dumber, Bad Teacher, My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Wedding Crashers, as well as movies that weren't intended to be funny.

I had forgotten about Idiocracy, thanks for the reminder, more of a doco these days rather than a comedy, too close to the truth!

Ill check out Harry Enfield and Chums, haven't seen them before! I quite liked another British comedy sketch show Armstrong and Miller

Hi Ina.

I need to check out the first three on your list. I wanted to post something since Ninotchka is an absolute favorite of mine as well, as is Greta Garbo. Between Earnst Lubitsch directing and Billy Wilder among the writers it's really funny stuff. I heard this was Garbo's first comedy. Not sure if she did much comedy after that either. But it was a perfect match. And Melvyn Douglas is just perfect. Everyone is.
