What genealogy program(s) do you use?

I was trying to find which genealogy program Laura used/is using. I couldn't find it.

I thought I'd broaden the question and ask everyone who's using one. I'd also still like to know which one Laura's using.

Just a few days ago I decided to take the plunge and start a genealogy project - I signed myself up to Ancestry as a starting point.
For a beginner like me I have to say that Ancestry makes the process quite simple for you, so its helping me to get my bearings.
I've not progressed that far yet, but its proving to be very interesting (why did I not take much of an interest before??).

I have my fingers crossed that I'll come across an ancestor who was an upstanding member of the ton.. :-D

I'd be very interested to know if anyone has has any experience with using any of the DNA services that are available? Ancestry evidently has a DNA service that can include information on traits related to nutrition, performance and appearance.

While the internet certainly has made the search for ancestors easier, there are also a lot of mistakes to be found. One example which I just saw while looking someone up was this ancestor.
Brief Life History of Niels Lændi
When Ridder Niels Lændi Kaas af Sparre was born in 1240, in Ribe Domsogn, Ribe, Ribe, Denmark, his father, Christen Lændi Kaas, was 5 and his mother, Kirstine Jensdatter Kass, was 20.
It is clear that AI took things from various sources and made connections which couldn't have been there. The other day I found a similar impossible link, where the grandfather according to what was written would only have been 15 years old when his grandson was born. There clearly was a generation too much in there.

I thought I'd broaden the question and ask everyone who's using one.

As for software, then I now only use a word document. In the beginning a nephew hosted a gedcom genealogy program which he had adjusted so it wouldn't be listed online. That worked well until, he stopped hosting it and it was gone. Luckily I had always kept a word document of the entries.

In case, the internet becomes a thing of the past in the future, it might also be a good idea to print things out and thus have a hard copy.
