What's the DEAL?

Well, I do regret that I created this sort of messy disturbance here, but it did provoke some very stimulating and interesting discussion. Since I am the instigator, so to speak, please allow me put a cap on this thing, in the spirit of Rodney King...

I very much appreciate the comments of PepperFitz concerning the wisdom of taking the time to consider the relevance and effect of one's words before firing off an emotionally laden post. Yes, I think I had a valid point to make, but I could have made the point a bit more diplomatically and less confrontationally. Scott, don't YOU get your knickers in a twist over this, it's not a biggie. I am by no means a newbie here, and yes, I understood what you were trying to do in this article. If the "creative license" line had appeared in the original article it would have been "cool". I do think it is important to scrupulously pay attention such details because it could create some confusion in your less informed readers and also leaves you open to having your integrity questioned.

Look, these are exceptional times, and honesty and sincerity are paramount virtues for those of us that care enough to fight for life, liberty, and dare I say it, TRUTH. So, I'll be honest and let you in on what I left unsaid, but is really what pushed my emotional buttons. I'll admit that I haven't read Political Ponerology, I really don't see the need, as I more or less came to the same conclusions awhile back. I agree that it is a very important work that not only names this deviant element in human society, but also elucidates the mechanisms of their rise to positions of control and power. By all means, call a spade a spade. These quasi-humans ARE psychopaths, but it does seem to me like you kind of beat people over the head with these terms. Psychopath is still a very loaded word for most people. One that conjures an image of crazyness and insanity. Looking through the readers comments it seems like quite a few people are sort of stuck on these labels and not quite getting the complexity of the situation.

Alright! Enough of my curmudgeonly nitpicking and pointy headed criticisms. I really do wish everyone here the best.

Well, you may have made it to "sound terrible" for some particular good reason, right?
I suspect it doesn't really apply here but yes one does seem to be allowed to use the ususal third density STS tactics when appropriate. I remember the Cs advising Laura to help you sell yourself the American way when you first went to the U.S. It's kind of one advantage we have over the Cs :) Though I think maybe they spin too in their way.
What works at one moment of time may be completely inappropriate at some other moment. The art of "doing the right thing at the right time" is an old one. Greek philosophers were associating with this art the term KAIROS. Hipocrates wrote extensively about how medical treatment, in order to be effective, needs to be well timed. Some medicine is good in the morning and bad when given in the evening, etc. Gorgias, the philosopher and one of the fathers of the science and art of rhetorics, wrote extensively about kairos and the need of mixing rational and irrational (since we are dealing with the open, thus partly unpredictable system) in choosing "the right" moment.

The following is a collection of various JFK quotes, blended together with a dash of creative license. And so, without further ado, I give you The Man himself
This is my first post here and I felt it necessary to do so. I hate when people claim literacy and righteousness and they cannot understand the context of what is being written. Scott, you said it all in that quote above. So, the addition of 'pathocracy" I would deduce to be that "dash of creative license". Keep on Keepin on Scotty...

Also thanks a bunch for that wonderful article. I am only 29 so I don't have first hand experience of JFK. I was on the fence concerning him. I knew of his faults and that wasn't what bothered me. Putting his legacy into a proper context is what I sorely needed.

Also that EoR documentary was heart breaking. Again thanks. I never delved that deeply into the conspiracy. Well done, the footage speaks for itself. Early in the film when Kennedy is coming out to speak in Fort Worth... You can see the look of disgust and disdain LBJ gives JFK...of course could be just me...

Why the hostility, bro? I don't think that anyone posting in this thread has exhibited "righteousness", nor professed any superiority in the "literacy" department. In the end, it is the author's responsibility to ensure that the reader understands the "context" of what he/she has written, not the other way around. In this instance, some forum members pointed out the lack of clarity and context that prevented the piece from being fully understood by some readers; the author, in turn, explained where he was coming from; he also listened and amended his piece accordingly. All reasonable and well intentioned people who openly communicated with each other to reach a mutual understanding. I'd say that's a good thing, no?

I am sorry if I came off as being hostile. Mucho apologies.

Totally agree. I was being totally egotistical in my own "self-righteous" rant. But I did end it with love? right? :)
