When the Body Says "no" - Gabor Mate

I suppose this is a relevant thread for this. I've actually been looking into "how to be less conscientious", heh. Hope it's not too cold, but something like caring less, especially about my job. I've been stressed and burned out for over a year now due to a staff shortage but the same or more amount of work. And I've been getting health issues and about twice a year I go to the ER and basically everything checks out fine and they say it's mostly stress.

I recall the story somewhere where during WWII and the atomic bombs were dropped in Japan, one guy saw the mushroom cloud during his commute and he only thought something like, "On no, how will I get to work!?" I think I'm too much like that guy. Anyways, found this video and I think it's so far the most on point:

A sharp and concise talk with Gabor Mate on "the myth of normal". Featuring much of his well known wisdom re- trauma, repressed feelings, escapism. His emphasis on the importance of locating the wound and healing it in order to recover one's well-being is explored fully too. I know my own wounds, and listen to this guy to learn how to move forwards as an authentic person. Gabor's a very inspiring guy, I actually feel like I'm listening to an old friend when I follow his talks.
