Several technology exist : Photocatalysis, Combustion, Plasma, HEPA Filtration, Activated Carbon Filtration, Ionizer.

If you have advices or experience return, would be nice to have your opinion.

Thanks.

I've been having an air ionizer for about three years and I really like it. It attracts dust, tiny feathers from the birds and seems to really improve the air quality. But I cannot say anything about the other options, as to what might be the best option.

err I few weeks ago I was reading a lot of material about purifiers.
From the material that I read I concluded that best option is to buy Negative Thermo Emission one , I`ve no idea how to put it better in English lol :)
I`ll just give you a google translated page so you can read about it and it will give you general idea which after several articles is quite logical.
Also , original website is kinda dead.I already tried to contact this guy to get this purifier but ... no luck

Drygol, I put here the original link because the one with google failed : http://www.jonizatorpowietrza.pl/zasada.html

A good source of information is finally Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_purifier
Seem there's no perfect solution, photocatalysis perhaps or a combination of several devices.

Thx Ellipse :)
It works under my system , I didn't double check it under different OS , sorry.

Also to add 2 cents , This explanation makes sense , I mean about negative Ion production.
Ozone only kills bacteria but at the same time it adds more positive stuff. We have a lot of that crap already in air because of radio waves , wifi , electronics ,microwaves etc. etc.

I am quite sure that this the case but it would be cool if someone with good physics background confirms that.

I have a air purifier that has both a HEPA and activated carbon blend filter. I am very chemically sensitive and from what I read, an ionizer can act as a irritant. I purchased a HealthMate Plus from airfiltersandpurifiers.com because it has a medical grade HEPA and 15 lbs of carbon (thats allot). They helped me figure out which one would work for me. I have been very satisfied with my choice and would recommend it. I also would recommend that you look around and call some experts. As a start, you may want to look at the following link.

Hi Cindi,

Welcome to our forum. :)

We recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, how they found the cass material, and how much of the work here they have read.

You can have a look through that board to see how others have done it.

Hi Cindi.

Thanks for the link but as you haven't introduce yourself, I feel inclined to think you're only promoting your products.

I use a small personal rechargeable ioniser (myairZone.com) which I got from Get-Fitt Ltd, unfortunately they no longer sell it. However, I do use at my desk, and you can take it with you when you travel.

Hi Ellipse

For the past year or more I have been using daylight spectrum light bulbs with in-built ionizers. The ionizers buzz quite loudly for about the first 10 - 20 minutes after they've been switched on but after that they settle down. I leave the one in my bedside lamp switched on all the time (its low energy too!) and have found them to be a very good product.

Regards

Eúnan

Hi ec1968, thanks for your input.

Funny coincidence you mention it, this afternoon I just discover this kind of air purifier in a shop. I was no aware of such products before.

hmm interesting , I wonder how it works. I hope it does not work through strong UV emission .

Hi drygol

No worries on that front, there's no UV in the spectrum from these bulbs. They're basically just daylight spectrum low energy lightbulbs (the type used for SAD, or in craft workshops) with an ioniser unit attached to the base.
