Which Public Personalities Are 4D STO Candidates?

I would say that Luke Nichols, the man behind the immensely popular (and my favorite) YouTube channel Outdoor Boys, is quite possibly an STO candidate. I've watched darn near all of his content, and it's not just about building survival shelters in the bush and other outdoor survivalist content. If you watch his videos, he's very selfless, he promotes all the different people who he patronizes when he posts videos of his family's vacations, he promotes Christian values without proselytizing, he provides a great example of how to be a good father and how to raise children. He actually had to stop making videos because he got so popular that it was affecting his family's daily life. He recently made a video on a friend's YT channel to help him because that man's wife is battling cancer and they have 4 children:

He's got an interesting story. Grew up in Alaska, traveled to Hawaii and Japan in his formative years as a missionary for the LDS, got his law degree and became a lawyer in DC, then moved back to Alaska with his family where the majority of his survival/bushcraft videos were filmed. He has 17 million YouTube subscribers and his videos have been viewed almost 7 billion times.

Some of my favorite parts of his videos extend beyond survival/hunting content. The family vacations where he shows his kids the history of their locale are great. I especially love when he makes his famous honey butter bread from scratch when he's camping in the woods. He's got a very pleasant demeanor and always treats the land and people around with respect. He may be one of the few true role models for the younger generation, at least in the West.

Here are a few of my favorites from his page, for those interested.

Bushcrafting videos are cool. Take a couple of hand tools out into the woods and use the natural available materials to build a cozy little hobbit house. They all seem to cook a meal and then curl up to take a nap at the end. People who watch comment that it's a great way to unwind before bed. There are people who do this in the tropics as well as cold climates.

Is this an analog form of "strategic enclosure" ?

I've seen some of thid videos.

He does exactly what he likes and enjoys it.

Good hotels, plane trips, rental cars, good restaurants, and he also records it and makes money from it.

As a catalyst to foster the desire to recreate that way of life, it is very good, which will lead some people to do what is necessary to obtain the necessary amount of money.

I don't see anywhere how this helps anyone.

It would be interesting to see what think the child in Africa watching the video on a mobile phone with his parents' income of 100 dollars a month.

I don't know if you have reading comprehension issues but he made a video on someone else's channel to help him as his wife battles cancer. Also, you could try reading the comments.

I usually don't ever comment on videos, and I've never been able to donate before. And I know it isnt much, but I hope it helps you and your wife Steven And you've aquired yourself a new subscriber! And to Luke, thank you for everything you've done for so many people, myself included. Your content has been a light that many of us needed more than you could have imagined. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to show my thanks by helping Steven
You’ve provided us with not only just entertainment but comfort in our lives during some of the worst days. I’m sure many others share the same sentiment. I look up to you and strive to be as caring and kind hearted as you are. You are a role model inspiring millions of people. Glad to help in any way
Thank you Luke for inspiring all of us to be better fathers, husbands, and human beings. Prayers to Steven and his wife and I hope this helps a bi
Outdoor boys has kept me going and helped me in the darkest of times.
I cried reading all these comments and my hope in humanity was restored
The outdoors boys changed my life and saved me from depression multiple times.
Luke, I grew up looking up to people like Steve Irwin, and it’s amazing to have someone like you to look up to now. You show what real masculinity can look like, kind hearted, a bit goofy, and always there for the people who need you. Thank you for leading future generations by example and for the real, positive impact you’re making on the world.
Etc., etc. etc.

Is it necessary to attack me in order for you to defend your idea?

Hi Wandering Star, looking from the outside it does seem like Luke Nichols pushed some buttons of yours, hence the judgements and attack rhetoric. I think Beau is just reflecting that back to you.

I am curious about what Luke represents for you, what the motivation for making someone like him “wrong” is, and if there’s anything you see in him that you could also see in yourself?

I don't know who this person is, that's all.

He may be a candidate for 4d STO or he may not.

Beau has given his opinion and seems to be a big fan of this person, so he may very well be right.

I'm just giving my point of view.

To paraphrase the C's in the session where they talked about the best music to listen to, "if something is very successful and has enormous media coverage, it's because it fulfills the agenda."

I’m aware you don’t know him personally, but that doesn’t stop the mind from forming opinions, judgments and projections about people. We do that all the time, in milliseconds. It is that aspect of your experience of him that I was curious about. Don’t you have that curiosity yourself?

It’s these kinds of questions that let us see how our mind and perceptions really operate, so we can practice greater objectivity.

The whole point of posting some of his videos and the link to his channel was to let people who didn't know him get a chance to do just that. Instead of doing that, you decided based on... a cursory glance I guess, that he didn't have any of the qualities that I saw. You do realize how that comes across, yes? You shouldn't be surprised when someone bristles at such a way of communicating with someone.

In your case, based on your history of posting here, I would say the best thing to do on this forum is to adopt the maxim that if you don't anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all. That way your disagreeable nature doesn't come to the forefront as it seems to so often.
