It's like a medicine and like every medicine, it must be taken with care.
Who overtake this medicine?
Balance is the key. Alcohol is not essential, but it can help in certain situations.
I heard that monkeys do consume alcohol in really ripe fruits and as we are kind of apes...
Well, well, well... the thing is always to do things with consciousness, sure. Every act is a perfect concentration of consciousness or the convergence of all the possibilities and conditions in the external and internal environments.

I eventually quit drinking completely 18 years ago after several years of binge drinking with decreasing frequency. The only reason I drank was to get completely drunk. I quit rather than become a sensible occasional partaker of wine because I don’t like the taste of alcohol at all.

However, alcohol is a sedative and if used intentionally to relax and wind down a bit or appreciate a drink because you enjoy it’s gustation I don’t see that as a problem. I think it can be used mindfully and not cause problems.

A wrong for a good. But, it has to be transitory.
As alcohol is not essential, if it is essential, it means the entity taking it has its essence upside down. x)

I think it would be helpful if you could be a bit less cryptic and more straight forward with what you want to express? It could just be a translation issue, but if you explain yourself a bit more I think you will engage better conversations.

I just was repeating myself differently. I just wanted to say that sometimes we are unbalance and the medicine poison helps (wrong bad) for a good (as we're unbalanced). But, just in a transitory way, as it would create another unbalance is taken a normal way (as an essential intake).

Great, thank you for adding a bit more clarity. I assume then that you are interested to learn about people’s lived experience with alcohol and if anyone has used it in a “medicinal ‘ way.

Actually alcohol is a poison and I think it can be used as medicine (I'll ask my chinese medicine practitioner today). However, in western culture we use it as a drug, not only that, but a social lubricant/drug with a huge risk of it becoming both used excessively and commercially.

Initially it functions as a stimulant, then it becomes a suppressant. This is an example of the gut-brain connection. However, excessive alcohol consumption is devistating to the body. I think we take it socially because it crosses the blood-brain barrier and it effects how we feel.

Alcohol is detoxified by the liver.

All poisons and medicines should be used with caution, not as a social lubricants, or drugs to be taken in social situations, which unfortunately is what our culture uses it for and has for a very long time. This explains why it has such a devastating reaction amongst cultures that have NOT been exposed to it (like indiginous cultures). Because our culture uses it in this way, there is a very high risk of social and physical impact and harm. I think it's a helpful topic to discuss because of this.

I've seen the effects on the body of excessive alcohol when nursing people with liver failure (experienced them too, myself - but not to that extent). My chinese medial practitioner is absolutly adamant that I give up alcohol. Note - not all liver issues get caused by excessive alcohol intake. There are multiple causes, but this is just one.

In my situation, I have a spleen-liver imbalance. So my challenge is to remove alcohol from my diet (not so hard because I don't like it's effect) and then to look at sweets which is a really big thing for me and probably where I'm going to stuggle most.

I can relate. I had to have a splenectomy via embolysis to stop my platelets from collecting in my spleen instead of entering my bloodstream. My spleen was attacking them like invaders. So no sugar or anything. I had to go full keto, which ain’t so bad, but I do miss many things.
