Sorry, this is a repost of an article I put up a 'mainstream Christian' site, so by 'you' I am addressing followers of Hagee, Robertson, LaHaye, et.al that have been egging on Israel to bomb Lebanese people and Syrians and Iranians:
Why are Christians blindly supporting Sodom and Egypt?
If you think we are in the end times (and many of you Christians do because they are even having people on CNN and MSNBC and Fox talking about how we are in the End Times), why are so many of you blindly worshipping what the Word (bible) calls Sodom and Egypt? Now if you are Christian and don't think we are in the end times, this whole posting will be a waste of your time, but polls have shown that 40% of the 200 million Christians in America do believe that so I guess it is worthwhile to many of the Christians out there. And Rev. John Hagee just started CUFI (Christians United for Israel) and led 3,400 people to Washington, D.C. last month to lobby Congress so it is a very pertinent issue. And Pat Robertson, the nut evangelist, just went and had a personal visit with Olmert that was reported in the Jerusalem Post, you can read it here:

And I would like to say from the start that this is a bible study, so don't bash me for what is said in the bible. If you think that the bible is anti-semitic, fine, so be it. I don't agree. And regarding whether on a secular level or political level what should go on concerning the nation of Israel, this is not speaking to that at all, this is straight bible study and prophetic study.
Why are Christians blindly supporting what the Word describes as Sodom and Egypt?
Quote:
And their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Rev 11:8)
The Word makes it very clear what the land of the nation of Israel is, spiritually, in His eyes during the end times. So why are many of you, as Christians, blindly supporting it? Has the nation of Israel accepted Christ yet? Can you evangelize the kingdom there? No. The same spirit that controls there is the same spirit that rejected their own Messiah 2,000 years ago and turned him over to the Romans to be killed. It is the same spirit that Christ spoke to here:
Quote:
I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill Me because My Word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you, then, do what you have seen with your father. They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus answered them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth which I have heard beside God; this Abraham did not do. You do the deeds of your father. Then they said to Him, We are not born of fornication; we have one father, even God. Jesus said to them, If God were your father, you would love Me, for I went forth and came from God; for I did not come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My Word. You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God's Words. Therefore you do not hear them because you are not of God. Then the Jews answered and said to Him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan and have a demon? Jesus answered, I do not have a demon, but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. And I do not seek My own glory, but there is One who seeks and judges. Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man keeps My Word, he shall never see death. Then the Jews said to Him, Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham and the prophets are dead, and you say, If a man keeps my Word, he shall never taste of death. Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets are dead; whom do you make yourself? Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I should say I do not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I know Him and I keep His Word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and He saw and was glad. Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham? Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I AM! Then they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and passed on by. (John 8:37-59)
That was Jesus, speaking to the religous and political leadership of Israel in His day. Of course, He didn't speak like that to everyone, and didn't even speak to all of them who didn't believe on him in that way, but He did speak those words. Now, taking that into account,
Do you think Our Father appreciates your blind love of a counterfeit gathering of His people that doesn't even allow the public preaching of the gospel of the Kingdom? (Anti-missionary law, 1977) I want you to really think and pray on this. You really can't tell that the political nation of Israel is not the regathered Israel of God? You really can't tell?
Do you really think that the Holocaust was God's work and somehow caused repentance and that's why Jews came back to the promised land?
Or was the Holocaust the work of the devil and caused a counterfeit regathering of Jews without repentance, something that the devil was interested in doing to help lead people astray?
I suggest people re-read the Book of Acts, and see the early saints' attitude toward the government and religious leadership of Isreal. The leadership that stoned Stephen and jailed Peter.
I'm not talking about all Jews, or all Jews in Israel, or all Jewish zionists, or anything like that, I'm talking about the state and its policies.
If you tried to preach the kingdom publicly in the nation of Israel right now today, you would be jailed just like Peter was 2,000 years ago. Did Peter blindly support the leadership? Did Paul, who formerly worked for that leadership, tell people to blindly support and worship that leadership and its policies after He was converted on the road to Damascus? Read what he wrote to the Galatians:
Quote:
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness. Therefore know that those of faith, these are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the nations through faith, preached the gospel before to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all nations be blessed." So then those of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are out of works of the Law, these are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the Book of the Law, to do them." But that no one is justified by the Law in the sight of God is clear, for, "The just shall live by faith." But the Law is not of faith; but, "The man who does these things shall live in them." Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone having been hanged on a tree"); so that the blessing of Abraham might be to the nations in Jesus Christ, and that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brothers, I speak according to man, a covenant having been ratified, even among mankind, no one sets aside or adds to it. And to Abraham and to his Seed the promises were spoken. It does not say, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, "And to your Seed," which is Christ. And I say this, A covenant having been ratified by God in Christ, the Law (coming into being four hundred and thirty years after) does not annul the promise, so as to abolish it. For if the inheritance is of Law, it is no more of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by way of promise. Why then the Law? It was added because of transgressions, until the Seed should come to those to whom it had been promised, being ordained through angels in the Mediator's hand.
(Gal 3:6-19)
This is the fulfillment of covenant that Christians should be concerned with, that seems to have been perverted by Christian zionists like Hagee and Robertson and LaHaye. The fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant was in Christ. The fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant was not the 1948 creation of the government of the nation of Israel. The nation of Israel created in 1948 doesn't even have the same borders of what was promised to Abraham, and neither does the 1967 borders nor what it currently holds today. The borders actually are from the Nile to the Euphrates:
In the same day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, (Gen 15:18)
Christ did not send His followers out to all corners of the earth so that they could blindly support a political government of the nation of Israel, correct? Christ's kingdom is not of this earth, yet many of his decieved followers have caused themselves to be concerned about the counterfeit idol kingdom instead of the Kingdom of Heaven.
