Why Your Brain Flips Over Visual Illusions

I spent several minutes trying NOT to see the spoiler image before I gave up. Though I did almost think of the spoiler as an underwater grotto, my stubborn brain said no, it's the spoiler.

Cool! I started by thinking it was some kind of electron microscope picture of cell layers or something, then it was like my eyesight blurred for a split second and refocused on the actual photo. Amazing where your brain goes on a blink. The pink sections with all the detailed shadowing was certainly distracting.

That was fun! First I did not have a clue, tried to switch perception away from the pink, still no result. I paused and read posts :) There was one with a little hint on silver details. Then I saw it immediately. So I only saw it with some help. :) Very interesting to observe.
