Woman dead at her desk 4 days before coworkers noticed

This is really sad. It DID happen in a bank though, where there's possibly fewer compassionate people left working in such places these days. I remember in my last (government) job during COVID there were days at a time when NO ONE stopped by to say "hi" in my office. Had I died there my fate may have been the same.

I'm also currently living alone and have only had four (non-landlord or maintenance) visitors in the last three years. Were I to pass away here it might not be noticed until my rent didn't get paid. I pray that most of you on the boards aren't in such straits yourselves.

I know in the end, we always die alone. But having someone there to witness it who cares and grieves the loss gives meaning to that life. I pray this woman at least got that much from her family after this event. If she didn't, then may this thread acknowledging her ignored loss suffice to give her life greater meaning during these tumultuous times. And I pray this does not become an accepted trend.
