Why is there so much attention around Minerals lately?
Now I’m an engineering folk and I know that there are over six thousand minerals in this world of ours … but I don’t think that the general mineral is what they (the STS) are looking for. In fact, I would say that they are probably only looking for a handful, the ones that bring in the most money and is the most abundant … something that is globally distributed and mined.
That would be the precious metals, platinum’s, gold, maybe silver. Lithium is hot right now and so is copper of all things and a few other manufacturing materials. But above all GOLD is the most abundant of these minerals but lithium is a close second in price and volume.
Now I get to watch American news, and we get a plethora of live reports of Trump talking about this ‘Minerals’ subject. You know his eyes sparkle as if he is about to lay a golden egg every time he talks about it, sooner or later he’s going to cackle. And I know China is leading in the discovery of this golden mineral and I understand from an STS standpoint that they cannot let this happen … to actually let another country financially disrupt their control just because their pile is bigger than our mentality. The number of countries that Trump wants control over directed at this need has been amazing to me, actually I’ve lost count.
And this talk of coal, are you kidding, the only thing good for coal is that gold is found typically in or near it. I mean, coal goes for anywhere from $25 to $155 a ton. The only reason to dig it up is that there are these other items around it that are actually have a worth that is valued by the ounce. And you can only get to them if you remove the coal first.
Trump is a focus of this rant, I actually voted for him, his ways are a bit unorthodoxed, but that may just be my understanding of what that word means to what he understands it to be, that’s another session. He has a plan that involves money and gaining a bigger pile, I get that … but we all know where that will take him in their kind in the end. I just wish he would just come out and say which one he's really looking for.
So, I collected a few items here and it is in the attached document, they are news reports that I got from a simple search … I stopped at eleven pages of news stories but they just kept on going. I added a page on coal and how it is infused with some of these Minerals.
It makes me want to play a game of Pictionary, Scrabble or some kind of word connecting game with them to see what they use in a round directed at this thought of ‘Minerals’ and see what they come up with, because it’s not what I’m thinking of, you can guarantee me on that. Haiku …
