Laura mentioned in Amazing Grace on page 857 (Almost through this insightful book) talks about Gnostic texts.

Amazon has a book out called, "The Gnostic Bible: Gnostic Texts of Mystical Wisdom form the Ancient and Medieval Worlds - Willis Barnstone".

Question: Is this a good place to start? ie: A good book?

Any recommendtions out there?

Would love to have one of the editors review a book or two and give some basics on this topic.

Thank you.

Having read a lot more since then, including having just finished another book on the topic, I would suggest that you start with "The Jesus Mysteries" by Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy. It's a really good introduction, covers a lot of ground, gives many quotes, and has an excellent bibliography if you want to go deeper.

Thank you Laura, have gotten the book this afternoon and am just starting to read it.

I've finished Amazing Grace (very good book!).

With The Jesus Mysteries - so far, it's pretty much telling me what I already suspected to be true. Strange, almost like deja vu so far anyway.

Anyway thank you again for your reply.

:)
