Xylitol from the EU?

Anybody know a good place to buy xylitol in the EU? I know it's legal, but can't seem to find it.

Thanks for that question MissIsness, also when it's already some time ago.
I have been looking for Xylitol myself, to bake Lauras "death by chocolate cake" in the past, but couldn't get it in local health food stores and haven't found it as well in other places.
Somehow stevia is really sweet, so it would be nice to get some powder what seems better adjustable.

So I will check these sites out and maybe there is a good offer for European shipping.

Thanks for that info. Welcome to the forum. :) We recommend all new members to post an introduction in the Newbies section telling us a bit about themselves, how they found the cass material, and how much of the work here they have read. Thanks.

I'm happy to inform anyone who lives in Finland, that Xylitol has now been made available at the supermarket. You can find it in all supermarkets of the K-chain (K-Kauppa, K-Citymarket, K-Supermarket). Just go to the section where the regular sugar is and look around, you should be able to find a xylitol shaker on the shelves nearby. On the package it says: Koivusokeri, 100% xylitol. It cost little over 5 euros, so it IS quite expensive.

Here's a picture I took of my new best friend :):

And in France, one can get it from here:

Or here:
http://www.rizen-sans-gluten.com/
-- a super site for wheat free / dairy free products. (though at this time she's waiting for a new xylitol delivery, which is apparently blocked at the customs)

In France, my wife found it in the Biocoop stores (http://biocoop.fr/magasins-biocoop.php).

In the UK, I get Xylitol from myprotein.co.uk in a resealable bag.

In Germany, I get mine from:
http://www.baccararose.de/

Best you search for xylitol to get to the desired order page. Delivery is swift (2-3 days in Germany). Depending on the amount ordered you get also a discount, ranging around 6-7€ per kg.

Thanks for that Odysseus. I recently bought 350 gr. of Xylitol for 7.50 €, so there is a lot cheaper way to go! :)

You're welcome, Gawan. Glad somebody could make use of my post. :)

My first searches resulted also in such high priced odd quantities of Xylitol and I was very upset, so I decided to invest
quite some searching time and came up with the mentioned provider. Last time I ordered the 5x 1kg offer since we finished at home the first Xylitol packages rather fast.

Odysseus, that is fantastic. I Used xylitol for several years but had to give it up since I use a lot of "sugar" and ended up spending between EUR 100 and 150 a month on xylitol and that wasn't making financial sense.

I am wondering why this site sells it at a third of the price of most other places. Is there anything that indicates that this should be lower quality product?

I don't see anything suspicious about it, that it could be "lower quality" in some way. Before that, I tried also an expensive a couple of 100s grams product which seemed to be exactly the same "quality": it is in fine crystalline form, is sweet and has this cooling effect in the mouth if taken directly.

So, I think I can safely recommend it. :)
Thor, if you order it and still find something suspicious, please leave a note. Or just leave a note anyways, that everything is just fine ;)

I just found this site in Germany:

http://www.xucker.de/xucker-xylit-xylitol/

But I was wondering: this xylitol is made out of corn, though GMO free.
Will that be a problem, since corn is a no-no?

I think the price is lower, because the 'Xucker' is made out of corn.

I have another German site where they sell xylitol made out of birch (according to the search engine) and the price is considerably higher, but maybe more preferable?
