Just found this out. Looks like yahoo are watching.

You are being tracked - Urgent information for all group
members: If you belong to any yahoo Groups this is important...
Sharing a tidbit of information:Yahoo is now using something
called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and
see what you're doing and where you are going similar to cookies.
Yahoo is recording every website and every group you visit. Take a
look at their updated privacy statement:
http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy
About half-way down the page, in the section on cookies, you will
see alink that says web beacons. Click on the phrase web beacons.
That will bring you to a paragraph entitled "Outside the Yahoo
Network."In this section you'll see a little "click here to opt out"
link that will let you "opt-out" of their new method of
snooping.Once you have clicked that link, you are exempted.Notice
the "Success" message on the top of the next page. Be careful
because on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-out" button that, if
clicked, will *undo** the opt-out.

So is google, msn, etc etc.You are being tracked every time you use an ATM card, credit card, library card, store card,or any of the other cards people are enslaved to.You are being tracked every time you use a toll booth, enter a car park, are stopped at one of the police checkpoints that seem to be popping up more and more,You are on camera every time you walk down the street, into a shop, even in some bars! unless we live in the wilderness we are being tracked from the cradle to the grave.welcome to 1984

This isn't actually new. They have been doing this for some time.

Don

Since this is not new and Don already knows about it could the the moderators please delete this thread.

This particular case of yahoo is definitely a couple of years old at least, but that doesn't make it any less important to note, imho. My vote is that the thread be allowed to remain :P

P.S. - unless you're being sarcastic anyway :D

get a grip moonwalker, everyone is entitled to there say.even if it doesnt please you!

A grip on what Cernunnos? Are you trying to harass me here? You do know that's against the rules. You're recently registered, you have read them right? Since you believe everyone is entitled to their say, which is not actually true, then I'm entitled to request the thread be deleted or maybe I'm not by that logic.

Scio: No sarcasm, no noise why clutter up the board with old news. Are you sticking your tongue out at me :P

lol well I just figured, just because one person already knows about this does not mean it's not important or should not be said. It's not new on the internet, but it hasn't been posted on this forum as far as I am aware, so it's new for the forum itself! And I agree, everyone should not be entitled to state an opinion. They are entitled to have an opinion, but in order maintain a high signal/noise ratio, opinions that constitute noise should be kept to a minimum and sometimes that means removed.

It reminds me of what psychopaths say when they are deleted from the forum and their lies and manipulations are not given a say. They complain that their freedom of speech is violated. What they REALLY mean is their freedom to lie and manipulate is violated. And this is why I think it's important that everyone NOT be "entitled to their opinion", to avoid ponerizing the forum like pretty much all other forums that fall for that line.

This was new information to me, so I appreciated it being posted - especially the details of where to click etc. - very useful for those of us lacking in computer skills, like myself. Thanks.

A person with valid view or valid obseveration is entitled to voice it.We all know what the rantings of a psychopath are likely be like,.Lets try and use common sense.

But this is exactly what the rantings of a psychopath often are - saying that everyone knows what the rantings of a psychopath are, when by far not everyone knows, and very often the "rantings" of a psychopath are almost impossible to distinguish from the rantings of a non-psychopath except through prolonged and critical observation of said rantings. So the nonsense generalization you just expressed appears to be an invalid view/observation, as it does not stand up to the facts. You are not using common sense, and yet you are expressing yourself anyway because you might think you are using "common sense". Your statement is proof that what is "rantings of a psychopath" and what is "common sense" and what is a "valid view" isn't nearly as clear to everyone as you seem to think, not even clear to yourself.

Yes let's try and use some common sense. What is this valid view or observation that you have. I asked what is it I should get a grip on, you don't seem to have an answer. So I'll ask again, what is it that I should get a grip on? and what is so valid about this view about what I should grip? You see your comments say to me that you assume that I'm being childish and petulent, well admittedly I was disappointed with some of the responses to what I posted and that disapponitment came out as sarcasm when I mentioned Don, however all I was doing was posting some info that I came across, I didn't know it was old news. Honestly the hostility I'm feeling to what I've posted is just weird. I've changed my mind I don' t think this thread should be deleted. At least one person didn't know about this (Manitoban) so something useful had come from me posting.

Like Scio said not everyone knows what the rantings of a psychopath are and even those educated on the issue can still be deceived. Suggest Cernunnos stop causing trouble.

Turned out to be a relevant thread after all, eh? You may want to reconsider your post here, Cernunnos - it reveals a lack of knowledge about exactly how psychopaths communicate - not to mention the fact that rolling one's eyes over a problem that cuts to the core of what is pushing this world past the brink of destruction is a bit 'short sighted' to say the least.

Some peoples ability to twist words and there original meaning or the context in which they were said or written astounds me quite frankly.

So you must have really astounded yourself when you said:

... when moonwalker never implied that Don is not entitled to his say or that he's not pleased by what Don said! He simply figured that if this is indeed old news then maybe bringing it up for the umpteenth time is unnecessary. The fact that Don labeled it "old news" did not upset moonwalker as some sort of attack on "his thread" (he wasn't identifying with the thread), his ego was not riled up - he simply took that as data, and for the time being changed his mind about the potential usefulness of this thread.
