Years of chronic infection

My name is Domagoj. I first stumbled upon Laura’s work back around 2008 on a local website.

I haven't been able to get rid of this chronic candida oral thrush infection for many years. It has subsequently caused moderate osteoarthritis and ocular problems via microvasculitis. These symptoms are currently manageable. They were worst in the beginning, having seemingly eased up with time. I go to work, have a great family and I strive to make their days better. I want to be there for them and I want to be there for my team at work.

I’ve tried keto, fasting, NAC, bromelain, oregano, clove, coconut, turmeric, ginger, neem, kefir, tea tree, lugols iodine, hydrogen peroxide, nystatin cream, miconazole cream and fluconazole at 100 mg doses as I was allowed to and prescribed by the doctor.

Of these the best was ingesting doses of up to about 800mg of lugols iodine where I experienced a week of clear tongue after which the trush came back. I've tried it again since but it doesn't clear it as much as before.

I take supplements to support my health and Im not overweight or underweight. I’m not in pain the majority of the time. I do not take any steroidal medication for the inflammation and I'm not vaccinated against covid.

Perhaps my case can help others if I can figure it out. I’ve been a part of the candida subreddit and there are quite a number of people suffering from this chronic issue and doctors dont seem to take this seriously enough, if at all, like they barely care or even believe their patients.

I know questions of a personal nature are discouraged, but I must do what I can do to try to solve what has been an impossible problem for me so far. If it’s not possible to submit this question I will understand.

Before I make any other guesses, tests, visit any other doctors or take any other antifungals, I would like to be able to consult the Cs. I know there are no simple solutions but I need to be pointed in the right direction.

So, what I would like to learn is - what is the personal optimal strategy for getting rid of this i.e. what antifungal(s) should I use against the candida I have and what does my body lack to facilitate getting rid of the candida (supplements etc.)?

How do you know it is Candida? Candida often is an opportunistic “companion” … of something else.
